I would give it 4 stars, but at only $150 I think it's worth 5 stars. I was very worried that my 1960 Karl Dressel horn wouldn't fit. I had taken that horn to several music stores in the San Francisco Bay area and found no cases that the horn would properly fit in. I took a chance on this one after posing a question about the fit and getting answers that most likely it would fit. Well, it does fit, but just barely. I worry just a little that the end of my lead pipe might be digging in to the padding slightly too much and wear a hole there. I'm on the lookout for a plastic top or cover of some sort to put on the end of the lead pipe that might help prevent possible future deterioration of the padding where that lead pipe end presses down. Besides the fit, I think it's a very nice case. Has separate zipped pouch for accessories and another separate pouch that will fit music folders. Looks and feels sturdy. I think it's an excellent value.

My daughter is loving this horn case! She has thanked me several times for this case. Nice to be able to pack the mouthpieces with the horn! We have an older 70's Conn 8D in the case and it fits perfect. Thanks for a great case at a great price!

This case is good, for the price.PROS: The body of the case is very solid and could handle most impacts very well. The inside has slots for two mouthpieces. It is roomy enough for larger horns like my Finke Americus, and deep enough to accommodate triple horns, but may be too large for smaller wraps. The interior lining is soft and will not damage the finish of your horn. The handles are very comfortable and rugged, and the zippers are very sturdy.CONS: I'd like to see more customization possible in the main compartment; some velcro pads might help fill in empty space. The accessory pouch (on the outside of the case) is too small. If it extended straight down to from the point to create a triangular wedge shape, it could hold a much wider variety of accessories.SUMMARY: This makes a great extra case, or spare case to have lying around. It would also make a great case for a student horn or cheaper instrument that may not be valuable enough to justify the expense of a high-end case. It DOES provide solid protection, but it doesn't stand up to some of the more expensive cases on the market.

I've been using mine on a daily basis as a college student for about a year now. The music holder is great and the storage is good. The only thing I dont like is that there is no room for a mute!Other than that, it shows no signs of wear after a year and the padding inside is still firm.Very happy with the purchase.

This is essential for any French horn player. I've used it for a year now. I used it in both college and high school, and I can say that it functions well in both environments. I saved money on renting a locker in college, because I can easily carry my horn from my dorm to the practice rooms. I found that in high school I practiced more because it was easier to bring it home from school. Also this was great when I was in a community band, because we traveled quite a bit and it would have been a hassle to take a large, heavy case to gigs.
