Got this for our daughter that plays violin. Great carry case that snaps onto her violin case. Not only does it fit the shoulder rest, but also those replacement screws and any other small things she wants to put in there (like chapstick). It is not a hard case, but it is stiffer canvas fabric, so protection is there

I'm a sophomore in high school and play in the orchestra. I've had to shoulder rest break because the feet didn't fold up and I carry my shoulder rest around in my backpack all day long every day at school. That's because I keep my violin at home and play the schools violin. So my mom thought it would be a good idea to get the case and maybe the shoulder rest would last longer. This case is great because the zipper works really well and I feel it protects the shoulder rest but the material is very thin so would be nice if it was a little bit thicker. It's a little bit large for the shoulder rest. It could be smaller or actually thicker. When I put the shoulder rest and there's a lot of empty space inside. I like the little clips on each end. I don't use the clips every day because I keep the case inside my backpack but when I have concerts and bring my violin from home it's nice to be able to clip this shoulder rest case to my violin case. That way I have one less thing to carry and I'm sure I won't lose my shoulder rest. I think this is a worthwhile purchase I just wish they'd have a little more padding and then I'd feel like my class he wouldn't shoulder rest was better protected. A little bit of the wood chipped off on my shoulder rest and I don't know if that was from this case or just something that happened but it could be a little thicker.

Bought this for my son since finding another case seemed way too pricy for another hard shelled case. I did not expect the top part of this to have a mesh fabric, but is does. It is sturdy and will hold the Bonmusica violin 4/4 shoulder rest, but only just. It has plenty of length, with a little less than an inch to spare, but Bonmusica shoulder rests can be bent more to conform to the shoulder. This makes the overall size vertically to be more. My son's brand new, and non-bent, Bonmusica shoulder rest will just barely fit because of the height. We shall see if, after shaping it, it will continue to fit or need to be bent a little every time it is put away. I hope not, but so far - so good.

I have a violin that is currently in a small hard shell case which has very little room for anything other than a cloth and some rosin. I was getting frustrated with having to carry my shoulder rest, music book and case all separately. I've already sprung for better strings, a better bow, a music stand and several types of rosin to try out so a new case is something that will have to wait for a while. I was super happy to find out, while looking at cases with more storage for a future purchase, that this was a suggested item. I just received it today and am very pleased with it so far! Others have said it is a little large and, while that is true, to me that is a plus. My shoulder rest (collapsing FOM brand) fits in great with room to spare. This means if I get any other accessories, like a small tuner/metronome for example that will not fit in my case, I will be able to put it in the pouch with my shoulder rest. I like the clip and strap on both ends. It fits securely along the side of my hard case without being so large that it flops around. It is just right. Quality so far seems great, though I will update if it falls apart any time soon.

My new violin case doesn’t allow for much shoulder rest storage. So I was excited to happen upon this pouch.It easily attaches to the D rings of my violin case and holds my large size Poly-pad sponge with no problem.Highly recommend!

I have a viola and it is 16.5â€. The shoulder rest just doesn’t fit. My shoulder rest is one of those expensive £60 ones that comes from German that hooks over your shoulder.Now this item has another use an expensive pencil case.Well made and stylish.Hence I am knocking two stars off as I can reuse this for another purpose.
