I have a Yoolax roller shade in my bedroom that is surface mounted on a window. Quite a bit of light gets past the edges when closed, so I bought these to help cut down on the light leakage. These are very sturdy and have a soft fabric "brush" on the inside edges to protect the edge of the window shade. I had to shorten these channels to fit my windows, I just used my table saw with a fine tooth blade to cut through the aluminum channel. The plastic cover on both ends is removable, just make sure to clean out the channel as there are some grooves that the end piece needs to fit in to lock it in. I used a thin run of double sided tape to adhere these to the outside trim of the window. The weighted bottom of the Yoolax shade fits nicely in the channel and the shade still opens and closes without binding. Looks nice and the color is very close to the metal valance of my roller shade.

I had roller shades professionally installed in a new condo and couldn’t stand the light leakage out the sides. The room was so bright with the shades all the way down. Apparently, Graber doesn’t sell side channels for the expensive shades we purchased and I didn’t even realize it would be a problem until they were installed. I purchased these UChannels from Amazon and had the company that sold us the shades cut them and install them using 2 wood screws. I then had to buy rope caulk and put it behind the channels to block the slivers of light that came through the wood frame and the channels. The room is much darker now and I am happy with the purchase. Before and after pics attached to review.

I got these to put around some roller shades I had installed as they were inside the frame and did not go edge to edge. They certainly work but aren’t perfect.Installation was mediocre. I had to cut these down with a small hand saw and the edge was very rough. I put that at the top behind the valence but probably should have sanded it for safety. The peel off paper on the adhesive was also a pain to remove. It ripped several times when I was peeling so I needed a small razor to find the edge again. The adhesive itself is very sticky. So much so that when I tried to quickly remove it after touching it to the wall to align it better, it took off some of the paint. I don’t think there’s any risk of it falling off, but will update this review if it ever does.I don’t use the hardware or the included as the adhesive felt plenty strong. Similarly, I haven’t added the included blackout tape to line the inside yet. I’m sure that will help a bit. As it stands though, this certainly does help block out some of the light but you’ll really need to use guides to push a shade flush against the inside track if you want it to block everything. It looks pretty good now that it’s installed and I could probably paint over it if I wanted to match the wall color in the future. The value is also pretty good relative to other options. Size is fine now that I cut it down.Overall it’s a good option, though I’d prefer to see easier adhesive tape removal and some kind of included guide to keep it level when installing. Feels easy enough to include a plastic piece that can clip on to each end that can keep the piece square to the edge of the frame when you’re installing.

I have roller blinds in my bedroom which means that there was a 0.5â€-0.75†gap on each side so I bough 5 pairs of these and now my room is much darker. They look clean and made of thick material. The 3M tape is pre-installed so you just have to measure twice, cut to size and stick it to your window pane. Some reviews mentioned that it is hard to cut. I have a miter saw so I cut through these easily but since they are made with thick plastic, I wouldn’t advise trying to cut them with shears. At a minimum you’d need a hand saw.I had an issue where one of my orders wasn’t as wide as the other and seller sent me a replacement set right away. Don’t worry about these being too wide because they still look great. See my pics. Not 100% blackout because it depends on how your roller blinds were install but for my family, it’s given us 2-3 hours more sleep with the early daylight we get in Southern California.

I was a little reluctant to buy it because I know they aren’t returnable. I measured with my tape measure, confirmed the measurements when they messaged me after purchase and I received them in a very hard cardboard tube so the pieces were not damaged or bent at all. After ordering two sets and seeing how great they were and worked, I ordered two additional sets, and it was very happy with the quality and with the consistency! The measurements were perfectly spot on. I don’t think the black tape is necessary for anything. I think it’s supposed to absorb light, but it doesn’t do anything so I left that off. The tape that comes on the pieces with the adhesive is very strong and super easy to stick up!

So I had just installed new blinds in my kitchen window and it is very big. The blinds look gorgeous except they were a little on the short side width wise and they couldn’t find a size for our window. I purchased these because it fits perfectly on the sides of to cover where light would shine through or at night where they could see from outside in. Will definitely purchase again if needed.

I was setting this up in my kids room on two windows. I managed to do the first window without any issues, but I misaligned the second window and some light was creeping through.I thought oh no problem, I see where I misaligned the initial placement. Wanted to redo my placement and I cannot remove these from my wall! I removed one side of the blockers with minimal issues, but this other side ended up damaging my wall. The adhesive was so strong the blocker ended up snapping as I was trying to remove it. I'm now stuck with half of this light blocker in my kid's window frame and I have no idea how to remove it. At this point, I just need to remove it with minimal damage to my window frame. If you can do this on your first try, you're golden and works like a charm. Slight misalignment and need to redo the placement? Expect a headache.
