This is a great pipe cutting tool! It easily cuts through PVC, PPR, PE, PEX, and plastic hoses. The heavy-duty ratchet mechanism ensures smooth, precise cuts without too much effort. The stabilizer helps keep everything steady, and the blade is sharp and durable. It’s well-built and feels sturdy. If you're looking for a reliable pipe cutter, this one definitely delivers!

I had been using a mix of hacksaws and smaller snips up until the time that I bought this cutter. However, these tools never truly provided me with the clean and straight cuts that I desired. As soon as I started working on my first PVC pipe replacement project, the difference between this heavy-duty ratchet design and others became instantly evident to me. In my past efforts at pipe cutting, I was not used to maintaining a professional degree of accuracy; nonetheless, I believe that the tool's solid construction and smooth ratcheting mechanism assisted me in doing so efficiently. Immediately upon opening the box, I was struck by the fact that the instrument seemed to be sturdy. It included a stabilizer bar that prevented it from wobbling, as well as a Teflon-coated SK5 blade that had a really keen feel to it. In spite of the fact that this gave me some confidence going in, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious about the possibility that it might be too powerful or perhaps a little inconvenient to use. On the other hand, once I had the pipe positioned within the jaws, the ratchet mechanism proceeded smoothly through each increment, which enabled me to cut through thick PVC with a little amount of effort. Despite the fact that I had to grip the handles a few times, I never felt like I was getting in a fight. In point of fact, the ratcheting motion relieved a large amount of pressure from my hands, which is something that is noteworthy since I had previously suffered wrist fatigue while using less expensive cutting tools. Immediately after the completion of that first cut, I began the process of methodically measuring and cutting all of the pipe parts that I needed for my repair job.

Cutting through inch and a half waste hose caused the cutters handle to break on the very first cut. I did continue to use it throughout the day, but had to vice grips as a handle. Also, I would have to manually release the catch on it to ratchet the blades back open. If you’re cutting softer hose or smaller hose it’ll probably be OK but I wouldn’t recommend it for any hose over an inch.

The cutters work good to cut PVC pipes, as long as they are smaller than 3 inches. Even taking off the black rubber cap on the end, you still cannot get a 3 inch piece of PVC pipe into the cutters, unlike the advertisement.EDIT*** Well, the manufacturer contacted me and gave me a complete refund for the cutters, stating that they will cut up to 3 inch outer diameter and the advertising was confusing, as 3 inch PVC pipe is 3 inch inner diameter, and thus too big for their tool. The refund was very nice.
