Can't beat it for the price. I have 40+ year old cassettes and so far, it has played everyone with no problems!

When my 40-year-old dual cassette deck started making noise that was heard in the digital copies I was making, I found the PyleUsa Dual Stereo Cassette Tape Deck at an affordable price. Sound quality is very good, and the ability to convert tapes via the USB connector made this purchase a no-brainer.

I’m a cassette collector and have spent a lot of money on cassette players. I’ve purchased high end portable ones from retrospekt, great quality used ones off eBay, budget ones off Amazon, and the ultra cheapo ones from Walmart. This one is by far the best all around cassette deck you can buy at the moment. It plays good quality, records good quality and has some decent features like the recording level knob. When it comes to the basic functionality and features needed, this is the best. I’m only giving this four stars, but it’s a TRUE four stars. The functionality of the deck is great, but the quality of plastic on the machine is very cheap feeling. The buttons feel fragile and the cassette slots are flimsy, but what’s even worse is cassettes can get stuck between the play deck and the cassettes door, lodging the cassette between the two. So DO NOT FORCE the cassette doors closed. You could break them for how fragile they are. If you feel any resistance when trying to put the cassette in, stop, readjust, and try again. But other than the flimsiness, it plays and records great which is what’s really important right now as the cassettes make a comeback. I recommend grabbing this if you have a powered speaker to connect it to or are wanting to record cassettes.

I bought the Pyle PT639D cassette deck to make a tape, as my 40-year-old tape deck did not want to work. I found a cassette tape still wrapped in its original plastic, removed the plastic from around the case, opened the case and pulled out an unused tape. Placed the unused tape into the player and started to record using a stereo system I had never made a tape with. I did not like the results. I moved Everything to another room in the house that had my old stereo equipment set up in. I fully rewound the just opened and slightly recorded on cassette tape and with no inputs hit record to erase what had just been recorded. With out checking my recent work I started to record again. Once that was completed, I wanted to check the quality of my work so rewound the tape and hit play. At first it was very soft and then got loud as the most recent recording came across the head. Realizing that the soft volume was my first original recording on the tape, I decided I would record nothing on the tape multiple times to see if that would erase the unwanted starts. It could not erase what it had previously recorded. Not only was the tape deck unable to erase a tape it had recorded, when the record and play button were pushed there was a lot of give in them as if the support was going to bend in. Another telling sign is there is a card enclosed with it that says, “REGISTER WITHIN 7 DAYS TO CLAIM YOUR 1 YEAR WARRANTY AND *FREE HDTV CLEANING KIT +CABLES” This cassette deck is not only a waste of money but also a waste of natural resources. As others have said: use a boombox. I put the above-mentioned cassette in my twenty-year-old boombox and pressed record with no inputs and it erased the tape just fine. The Boombox also did a better job recording than this cassette deck. With so many proven designs from over the years this cassette deck is a total disappointment. They decided to take a wheel and draw an equilateral triangle that just touches the outside of the circle and market the triangle as a wheel. This Pyle product is a waste of natural resources. I looked at other cassette decks and their performance specs (dynamic range, etc.) were all the exact same lousy specs compared to that of the forty-year-old cassette deck I had. This led me to believe that behind the face plate, these new ones are all essentially the same product regardless of the name, and therefore I chose the cheapest one. IF this product had worked as well as my ancient boombox, I would not be returning it.So as others have said skip this Pyle of c*** and use a boombox.

Works as expected except once the 2nd tape deck wouldn't eject and I had to pry it open with a knife.Never tried recording with it yet.

Love it! Does exactly what it's supposed to do, Record from Phono, Radio, even Bluetooth devices, via your Tuner. Great job dubbing cassettes, one to the other, for making master mixtapes. Very happy with it!

There is still a place for a cassette deck. Like many others, I'm sure, I have a lot of music cassettes, and being reluctant to throw them out, I sought out a moderately priced cassette deck which would enable me to get the best quality sound out of my cassettes, and also do a bit of recording. This item seemed to fit the bill. The design was probably OK, and the sound reproduction reasonable, but the manufacturing quality (made in China) was poor, and it has been a real battle to get the controls to work at all. I might have done better with a different product.
