The fourth side is for the stoves “air-wash”. Be sure to note whether your unit has the air-wash at the top or the bottom of the door and replace gasket the same way. You will simply use a scissors to trim off the tadpole (Bulb) part of the gasket on the air-wash side just applying the flat tape gasket portion. Tadpole gasket adheres to the glass with removal of protective strip; no additional sealant is needed. You can use a razor blade to scrape off as much of the old adhesive left behind as possible to ensure the most secure seal when applying the new gasket. Foil tape is included to place over the two ends that butt up together. This insures that there is no fraying and helps your gasket last longer. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use the nozzle on your vacuum cleaner against the tadpole gasket; this will cause it to wear prematurely. My Quadra-Fire stove takes a very different gasket called a tadpole gasket. I had a lot of trouble finding out what I needed. Pellethead knew exactly the gasket for me to fix my problem. I will be using them for all my stove needs.

Our carbon monoxide levels were ~80 ppm and we were advised to change the gasket. The gas company came out to check the install and measured carbon monoxide at ZERO ppm.

I don't know what the deal was. Nothing but trouble from beginning to end. This appeared larger than the the old gasket we had on our old Santa Fe, figured it would cruah down. Nope. Fought the entire way, and now the door is warped trying to shut around it. Followed the same quadrafire door gasket replacement video directions as everyone else. This gasket is just too massive to work on the Santa Fe. This was a $16 mistake I hope no one else makes.
