This is some very nice chalk, incredibly smooth, like chalky butter, unfortunately all the chalk came broken into pieces, not really small pieces, most were just broken in half, which I don't really mind, seeing as how it is pretty nice chalk for the price, but if you buy it on its own just know, it comes without any bubble wrap or packing peanut protection, so chances are it will be broken. It also smells nice, almost like perfume, I believe that's just because its Ivory and technically not chalk.

Quick delivery and I am sure the seller is great, no issues there, but that is where the good news ends. This product is terrible! Very light and fragile; it broke just from being put into my chalk holder. It scratches chalkboards and you have to scrub to get the marks off. I bought this brand in an attempt to find a replacement for ordering "vintage" chalk from Ebay, which will not be around forever. Overall the quality and make of this chalk is some of the worst I have used.

I work at a restaurant that has a menu that changes every day. We write the menu on a very large chalkboard. This chalk is visible from a distance and photographs well. It is not 'dusty'-it writes with a clear thick line. The color is pleasing and easy to read.

Needed some dustless chalk for a project that I was working on and it worked nicely. Didn't have any broken pieces when the item came in the mail.

The chalk writes fine on boards. However, it is vary fragile and likes to beak up into small chunks. Also tends to rub of on your hands leaving a lot of dust an a pretty big mess. I need to carry it around in a plastic bag to keep it from spreading dust all over. Would recommend getting smaller stronger sticks if you are writing a lot of text on a board as it seems to be a bit less readable than other types I have used.

Physicists have fought over left-over pieces of this chalk because it is one of the few brands that write smoothly and feel good to use - and doesn't squeak. If you like this chalk - you may need to hide yours or your coworkers will steal it when they realize how nice it is.It is dusty. It does arrive in broken pieces.It is worth it.You can also buy the thicker pieces which break less.

I measured the diameter of this brand and two other manufactures and they are all tapered. Around .350" to .379" end to end. The holders that I looked at were for .375" diameter chalk. Turns out (good video on youtube) that the process to make the chalk sticks requires a mold with a draft so the pieces can be pressed out. I cut a very thin and narrow piece of aluminum about 2" long and inserted this into the holder. Problem solved.

This chalk is poor quality. When you hold a standard sized piece of chalk, it feels heavy. But when you hold one of these, it feels light and airy. But maybe that means it's smooth, right?Wrong, the chalk is actually quite "rocky". The first words I wrote on my chalkboard ended up being permanent, because the chalk actually *scratches* the board. Fortunately, having written over that area many times, and erased it many times, the scratches are difficult to notice.My chalk came in tact, but I can tell why the chalk would easily break. It is extremely brittle (perhaps due to its density, or lack thereof).I definitely do not recommend this chalk.

Awesome chalk. Low resistance to pushing/writing, though I wouldn't call it low dust (maybe I push too hard). I love how soft it is, which enables you to write and draw more freely. Worth a shot on your chalkboard.
