This keeps the pipe on the wood stove from burning the canvas where the stove pipe goes through. I've had that thing pretty hot and it protected what I needed protected.....the tent!

Make sure to wrap anything that needs wrapping OUTSIDE. I used this for the flue on my stove inside of my tent. I got fiber glass all over the wall, floor and my shirt. I tossed the shirt in the trash. Use gloves that you don't use for anything else.It works as advertised. Nice heat insulator. Comes with Clips to hold it down too.

Glowing orange stove pipe and protected my hot tent. These are always a bit fuddly to mount, but once it is on, it stayed in place. Comes with some throw away gloves, but my hands were not effected by touching the material.

Nice kit. Came in a small, tidy box with metal zip-ties, adjustable metal constricting bands, a nice thick set of surgical gloves to keep the fibers off of my skin, and the insulation itself, shrink-wrapped. A very well-thought-out package. I don't forsee any trouble installing this on my hot tent stove. Just waiting on the tent before I can install it.UPDATE- if at all possible, DO YOUR FIRST BURN OUTSIDE. a lot of nasty, acrid black smoke came off of the wrapping with the first burn. After that, it was fine. The wrap protected my tent admirably over a 3 hr test burn.

Not sure if it’s supposed to smell weird, but seemed to block heat. Wear gloves it provides!

Smells terrible for about 3 fires, I suggest doing a few fires outside before.
