After reading the various reviews and issues, especially the comments from Michael, I gave this a shot. Once it was in my hands I find I’m in complete agreement with him that it needs a fix. In his case he added a shim while in my case I placed it into the vise and cranked it down to create the needed angle pulling the nose up about 3/16 of an inch. I also added a piece of rubber sheeting as the “grooves†are a joke being both shallow and smooth from the powder coating with virtually no grip. Not clear where this idea originated but it is a good one. It’s just “office†engineering without real world finessing. One word of caution on bending it: Don’t go too far as I doubt the metal would be forgiving trying to undo the bend. This design could easily be buffed up to make it a true commercial grade product and I wish it was as our company hangs some very heavy doors.

Purchased to rehang a solid core exterior entrance door. Good practical concept and a sturdily built mechanism, but it was defeated by the fact that my door would not stay on the lifting base and kept slipping off once the door was lifted up. I really wanted to like this tool but it didn’t work for me and had to return it for a refund.

I do a lot of diy alone and getting the door in place is very hard. You can shim the door in a similar way but this makes very quick work of it.Highly recommend it.

Diciamo che per sollevare le normali porte di casa, piuttosto leggere c'è la si fa anche a mano, ma se si usa questo diventa un gioco da ragazzi.Solleva agilmente anche la porta blindata (ovviamente se sollevate una blindata, mettete un cartone sotto l'attrezzo in modo tale che il peso non sia a crudo sulle mattonelle).
