Important to get the base to anchor the chain! We did not buy it at first and the wind blew the chain and water everywhere. Works so much better with the base.

We like the looks of this and it works pretty well. I loosened the chain attachment at the bottom to allow water to seap out as otherwise what doesn't go over the spout sits there. It would be good if you could adjust a drain at the bottom without loosening the chain attachment. But we like it and it looks good. Only had 2 months so cannot say how it will hold up, but the finish seems of good quality.

Not as heavy as I expected so I had to put a couple rocks in it. Attached it to my rain chain and it looks great. The water goes down the chain and out the spout which is directed off our deck. HOWEVER, with the whole point of getting this particular Anchoring basin was to have the water pore off the edge of the deck, it is very disappointing to find that the anchor in the center of the bowl leaks. The anchor is connected through the bottom of the basin and has a plastic cap but no washer. To make matters worse 1) I did not keep the packaging and 2) I ordered a second one and will probably return it. It's a lot of money for poor construction.
