This is a nice rain gauge. It is sturdy and made with a glass gauge held in a metal casing. Rust resistant, easy to put together, easy to understand and read measurements. It is a great value for the money and highly recommend it!

Historically, I have used plastic rain gauges for my yard. I use two per year; as the plastic yellows (no longer can read) or the plastic cracks (leaks) and the housing breaks (plastic is not weather-resistant). I looked for glass alternatives that are easy to read and can go into my dishwasher; as needed. I am very pleased with this particular gauge. It is very easy to read; especially because of the floating-colored disc. We recently received 6.6 inches of rain in a 48-hour period (see picture) and I was pleased with performance and ease to clean up.

This rain gauge replaced my old broken one, and I am very pleased with it! I love how easy it is to set up, and I am glad that I can easily read the measurement from the kitchen window. It’s very pretty to look at and it’s very sturdy for its price point.

Sturdiness: 4/5 - There really is not much to the product to be honest. The stake you drive into the ground is sturdy enough to penetrate soil and go into the ground. The glass tube/gauge itself is pretty delicate, but it shouldn't really be susceptible to wear and tear or damage anyways. TO be smart, do not drive the stake into the ground with the glass tube inside it, and you'll be fine.Easy to install: 5/5 - 2 parts, glass tube goes inside the stake/coil that holds it. Nothing else to it.Durability: 4/5 - I gave this a 4/5 simply because I did have one tube where the base shattered and froze. This is mostly my fault as it was an unexpected colder night and I hadn't brought them in for the winter yet. The glass is very fragile...but it's glass.. that should be expected.Overall: 4.5/5 - Simple but Stylish rain gauge that does exactly what it is designed to do. The glass tube could be a bit thicker and durable, but that's hardly a big issue. I purchased 2 of these to monitor how much water I was giving my front and back yard after a lawn renovation, and they've been great. I will replace the broken one next spring when it's time to put them back out. If you like the design of these gauges, I would recommend buying them.

I love the large print of this rain gauge, it’s so easy to read along with the floater. The material is sturdy and it’s well made. Enjoy it so much- started using it for gift-giving ideas.

Purchased this during black Friday deals and used right away. Packaged very well especially with a glass tube. The red disk floats as rain water flows into the tube. The red disk and numeral markings are easy to spot from inside the house. The first glass tube broke because it had rain water in it, which froze overnight, so this is a replacement gauge. Great for the price but just make sure it's used when there isn't a chance of overnight freezing temperatures.

Bought this at the end of summer and was initially very happy with the look and design. Unfortunately, it has not lasted through the winter. Today we went outside to see how much rain we got over the last few days and the glass tube was cracked. If you do decide to buy, I would not recommend leaving it out in the winter if your area has freezing temperatures.Update to original 3-star review.After posting my review the seller contacted me and offered several options to make things right.They are now sending a replacement tube. They were quick to respond and quick to offer options.Great Customer service experience deserving of a 5-star review.

Clear numbering, and the red float really helps reading the amount. Also plastic much less likely to break in icy weather, as our two previous glass gauges did.
