About this item

  • [Lethal Heating System] ThermalStrike uses a patented six-sided heating system that surrounds and destroys bed bugs, carpet beetles, moths, and other insects – including eggs, larvae, and adults. Heat in excess of 120 degrees penetrates deep into cracks and small openings.
  • [Commercial Grade Construction] A fully sealed inner liner constructed of hospital grade heating pad material traps the bugs inside the unit. Additional layers of insulation keeps the heat inside the Ranger to minimize electrical power draw while seven thermostats continually monitor and control the heating system.
  • [Easy to Load and Operate] Place luggage directly into the unit or load the Ranger like a laundry hamper. Heat comes from all sides and eliminates cold spots, so there is no moving air, motors, or moving parts which can break down. Items being treated can touch the interior walls.
  • [Ongoing Support] ThermalStrike Ranger has a one-year warranty, ongoing customer service, and quality materials and workmanship
  • [Everything You Need] Includes a built-in timer (two, four, and eight hour cycles) which turns the unit off and a thermometer which clips onto the front of the unit and shows the current and maximum temperature reached during a heat treatment.

About the Ranger

Heat is a highly effective way to destroy bedbugs and other pests as it penetrates deep into cracks and crevasses where bugs can hide from inspection and pesticides. The ThermalStrike Ranger uses Six-Sided Heat Technology where all six walls are regulated at 155 F°. This allows the Ranger to be loaded just like a hamper – without needing to place items on blocks or trying to balance air flow. As heat is applied over all surfaces our patented heating system surrounds items and gently brings them up to temperature (rather than rather than a direct jet of extreme heat blowing in one location).

Safety has always been at the forefront of design decisions and the ThermalStrike Ranger uses seven thermostats throughout the system to provide temperature regulation and safety. In addition, a built-in timer automatically shuts the unit off after a heat-cycle. The Ranger is certified to CE standards as a heating appliance (CE Certification for Electrical Appliances / LVD Directive - Ankel Testing Laboratories Report #ANL15032001-L 2016).

Rugged, Portable and Collapsible Design

The Ranger is a compact and hardworking unit and has been an industry favorite since its launch in 2013. When expanded, the Ranger easily fits carry-on and most full-sized suitcases up to 28 inches with room to spare. When not in use the Ranger folds down to the size of a briefcase using built-in straps and can be stored in a piece of carry-on luggage.

Additional Features:

  • PVC enclosure area is sealed, welded construction to prevent escape during treatment.
  • Insulated outer shell of high durability 420D nylon with industrial zippers for years of use.
  • Six-sided heating to ensure there are not hot spots that could damage the contents or cold spots that could allow the bugs to hide.
  • Includes a corded thermometer showing maximum treatment temperature and 2-4-8 hour treatment timer
  • Hassle-Free and Versatile. The Ranger is easy to load. No rearranging the contents to ensure air flow, unlike fan-forced heating systems.

ThermalStrike Ranger is a reliable way to eliminate bedbugs and other pests in all life-cycle stages – eggs, nymphs, and adults using only heat.

Tech

Six-Sided Heating Surrounds Bugs From All Sides

Heat surrounds the bed bugs from all sides making it impossible to escape. Our uniform heat delivery system works without the complexity of blowers and allows for safer and effective treatment.

Used by Pros

Used by Professional Exterminators to Protect Their Own Home

When you're dealing with bed bugs on a daily basis - you can't take chances. Ranger is the choice for many pest management professionals for its durability, effectiveness, and ease-of-use.

Eliminate Travel Stress In A Zip

Heat is recognized as the ultimate solution for bed bug eradication. A key factor is the ability for heat to penetrate into hiding places that cannot be visually inspected or reached by chemicals. Industry research has shown that lethal temperatures for eliminating bed bugs and the eggs requires exposure to temperatures ranging from 117°F to 122°F. The Thermalstrike Ranger can safely heat up to 160°F to surround the contents with uniform heat which is able to permeate to the core, yet is safe to touch and will not damage the contents.

What Can Be Treated
  • Suitcases, Backpacks, and Purses
  • Bedding and Pillows
  • Garbage Bags and Storage Bins
  • Books and Papers
  • Clock Radios, CD's, and most Electronics
  • Miscellaneous Drawer Items

Understanding Heat Treatment

The thermal death point where bugs die is determined by temperature and exposure time. For example, bed bugs will die at 113°F when exposed for 90 minutes – or nearly instantly at 120°F.

During a heating cycle, the core temperature typically rises slowly at first and then ramps up as heat converges from all sides. As with all heat systems, the heavier and denser the load, the longer the process takes and a fully loaded system (such as a large garbage bag of clothes) may take 4-5 hours.

  • Although bed bugs and other insects will die at lower temperatures, we recommended exposure to 120°F for 30 minutes at the core to ensure the lethal temperature for bed bugs has been reached.

How to Use the ThermalStrike Ranger

One of the biggest advantages of the Ranger is the ease of use. Once setup you are free to load the Ranger wall-to-wall with a variety of items. The walls of the Ranger safely heat up to 155°F to surround the contents with uniform heat which is able to permeate to the core, yet is safe to touch and will not damage the contents.

Suitcases: The Ranger can treat hard and soft-sided suitcases up to 28 inches tall. If loading a suitcase into the unit, the suitcase can simply be lifted into the Ranger. Alternatively, if the suitcase is heavy, the Ranger may be placed on its side while sliding the suitcase into the unit, then return the Ranger to its standing position. With a few exceptions items (medicines, waxy cosmetics and deodorant) may be left inside the suitcase.

Garbage Bags and Storage Bins: When dealing with an infestation, bagged items can be placed directly inside the Ranger without issue. We also recommend storage bins for treating small items.

Bedroom Linens & Items: When treating a bedroom for bed bugs, the Ranger may be placed in the room and loaded much the same way as a hamper. If a dryer is available with a hot or sanitizing cycle, sheets and light linens can be done there, but extreme care should be exercised when moving these items out of the bedroom. Heavy blankets and bedding which can't be sufficiently heated in the dryer, which may include feather duvets, pillows, stuffed animals, etc., should be loaded into the Ranger.

Books and Papers: These items may be stacked inside the Ranger without concern. Note that dense items (such as reams of papers, large books, or files) can take longer to treat. Some spacing between books can reduce the treatment time.

Other Items: People often find out about us after they've thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of items that could have been saved. We have treated leather jackets, books, dry clean only fabrics, shoes, small electronics, etc.

Prevents the Spread of Bugs

The last thing you want is to spread the bugs around the house. The Ranger can be setup in the bedroom for immediate treatment of sheets and bedding. Just load it like a hamper without the challenge of blocks or concerns.

Heat treated bedding is the first step towards getting a good night sleep.

Cleans Toys

Treats Toys & Difficult Items

From favorite stuffed animals to bins of Legos the Ranger can easily be used to treat items that are nearly impossible to clean or can't be placed in the dryer.

Advanced Tech

ThermalStrike Technology

  • Heavily insulated to keep the heat in and with quiet operation, the Ranger uses a standard outlet and fraction of the power of other units.
  • Upright design creates a small footprint and enables regular operation in small rooms and apartments.

After sleeping in a bedbug-infested hotel room at the beginning of August 2023, I was freaking out about bringing them home. I found a live one on the bed in the morning and was covered in bites. After posting on the subreddit r/bedbugs, I received a comment advising me to look into a product like this. I read reviews and one had said something similar to my title– if you're thinking about buying this, just do it. So I did. And boy am I glad I listened. Using this and my dryer, I was able to completely prevent a bedbug infestation once I arrived home.Coupled with this, I also purchased bluetooth-enabled thermometers that I put inside of backpacks/purse/bags of clothes/suitcases that I treated inside the heat bag. They were much easier to use than the thermometer provided. On the thermometer's app, I was able to set an alert for when the temperature hit 125 degrees and measure for how long that temperature was sustained. This system of products allowed me to be super thorough in ensuring whatever I could've brought home was dead. The setup was super simple. I heat-treated everything in my car that was traveling with me (which was a lot seeing as I was in the midst of moving across the country). It fit my carry-on suitcase perfectly. I also packed all of my loose items into black trash bags and put those directly inside of the heat bag with fantastic results. I do wish that I could pick a custom amount of time for it to be on, as the 2, 4 and 8hr timer settings were a bit limiting. Overall though, I would recommend this product to ANYONE with a current or potential future infestation. It beats bagging up belongings for 1+ years by far. It also provided great peace of mind. Like I said, I was able to avoid bringing a bedbug infestation into my new home which is in large part thanks to this heat bag!

The product setup and take down was easy. It did not fit back in the box but given its effectiveness, I don't mind. Nothing ever fits back in the box from the store except electronics anyway.I got over 200 bed bug bits from a three-day stay in a cabin. Since I had to bring my bed linens, there was a strong chance that my car was infested. Zero bed bugs got into the house partly because of this bed bug heater! Zero!I also treated the car with a vapor insecticide. We were extra cautious, and this heater worked beautifully. My car charger didn't survive the heating process. I was extra determined and took it up to 150 degrees for a while, so I'm not surprised.I did not treat my laptop in the heater. I left it in a 2-gallon zip lock bag with the vapor poison for a week and left it at that, hoping for the best.

Great product! This is my second one and they both were easy assembly and work well. Temperature is not a question, and I prefer having thermal panels in the walls to having forced hot air. If I had one suggestion, it would be to make a larger version that fits cruise bags. Anyone worried about unwanted “extras” in their bag from traveling should get one.

I travel almost every week for work, staying at various hotels. When I get home, I pop my work backpack, purse, cloths, shoes, etc in one of the bins and in my second one I place my luggage (will fit carry on size). I set the bins on a four hour cycle and have peace of mind that I’m not bringing any unwanted guests into my home. I’ve had the bi s for almost a year and have not had any issues. Very easy to use!

This was a great solution for a year. I only had used this 4 times and it worked perfectly until now . After this last trip I put my bag into the unit as usual, set the timer and turned it on.A few hours later, thankfully I was at home and not sleeping when I noticed a burning odor .The unit got so hot that it started to burn my bag and was smoking , The inside bottom of the unit was burnt and the floor under it was so hot that i couldn’t even touch it. I was able to pull the plug and managed to take it outside of the house .This is extremely dangerous. !

I bought this for a family member who had a problem with bed bugs. They were ecstatic about how fast this box helped to get rid of their problem. The product was worth the money and has been extremely effective in ridding their family of bed bugs. If you are having a problem with bed bugs, this is the way to go. They tried so many different things to help with their problem. The hot box ended up being the final solution.

Very happy with this purchase so far after a week of use. Easy set up, works great. Peace of mind for people who are often in public places, transit etc. Wished I had known about it earlier. Hopefully it will continue to work great over time.

The seller/company behind this heater are great, honest people. They are very kind and professional, they reduced the CAD price after I purchased it and then refunded me back the difference. The bag gave me a lot of reassurance after a long battle with the tiny things that we shall not name. I used it several days in a row, heat treating all of my belongings in batches. The bag did a stand up job and got everything to the temperature I needed it. It is very simple to use and very simple to pack up after. Nothing was damaged.I recently used it to heat treat a cat scratching post I ordered online as a preventative measure. I just set up the bag and threw the scratching post inside, turned it on for a couple hours and then it was taken care of and my worry was gone. I don't think it should be your front line defence if you're dealing with a problem, but it's a complimentary addition to other treatments and a great preventative measure if you travel a lot or order a lot of stuff online.

Easy to use and very useful in killing bugsGood customer service - they warned me I would need a transformer as it comes from the USA, although this should really have been included in the product description. They also were very helpful answering some follow up questions I had as well. Overall I rate this a good product and a good supplier. My only one small criticism is that the box makes it obvious what it is and this can be a bit embarrassing when your postman drops it off
