I bought these to keep in my boat for walleye fishing. My fingers are too big and these really help to hold the fish while removing the hook and also for a secure hold when trying to measure them on the side of the boat. After losing a very nice walleye while measuring it, I decided that this was the way to go. Should have bought them long ago!!

Used this when we went leopard shark fishing last weekend. This made it super easy to hold the shark for a quick picture then let it back into the ocean. The shark teeth didn’t do much more than scrape up the clamp after using it on 4 sharks. Seems to be well made and should last a long time. Would buy again.

Have to have one of these handy when you're wade fishing and that occasional big pike or muskie shows up. Way more easy then doing the old throw your rod in your arm pit while you try to grab the toothy critters by the gills.

I've had a small 18 inch pike and about a 2 foot catfish shake loose off this grip with me holding the handle closed. OK for bass up to about 3 pounds, but really heavy or feisty fish can shake themselves out of this, even while holding it tight.

I had a chance to use these floating fish grippers this weekend on a couple pike I caught. The jaws grip the lower lip of the fish and allow you to get an extra grip of the mouth. They are made of all plastic and grip well. The jaws did make a hole through the lower fleshy part of the jaw on one of the pike I used them on ... he was really fighting and thrashing about while I was trying to get the hook out.I dropped the fish grips in the water, they do float and the white color is easy to see.Looking at the picture I expected the fish grippers to work exactly like vise-grips however the handles are not spring loaded so you have to use your fingers to open and spread the handles before closing them on the lip of the fish.Overall I like the extra safety this fish gripper provides and would recommend it to anyone.

Haven't tested how well they float, but was happy with how easy they were to close and open. Easy to clip onto the fish lip and hang on my fish scale with the keyring. for the price, I was very happy with them.
