This lamp delivers everything promised but with two areas with room for improvement.First of all the fill hole is only 1/2" in diameter and I didn't have a funnel that small so I had to fill it with a syringe in order keep from spilling kerosene all over the place.Second of all the pan does not rest securely on the top because of the little finger loop for carrying but since I don't plan on using it for cooking that's not an issue for me.Also it's made from extremely thin gauge metal but that doesn't seem to hamper its functionality so I'm not knocking off for that. If 3 1/2 stars was an option I would've given it that but because it's not I'm giving it a 4 star rating because it does emit a very good deal of light and heat. Much more than a comparable glass oil lamp.

The metal is not high quality. It was bent when I received it. The lid wouldn’t fit properly because it was bent. But since it was flimsy, I could reshape with pliers and get it to fit.The size is fantastic. It’s perfect for being able to heat something. I really like how the lever works to lift the glass. The design is fantastic.I just wish it was better quality metal. Makes me a tad worried about actually using it.

I thought I already did a review and was looking forit before I made a recomendation to a friend. This lamp is pieced together with ill fitting stamped sheet metal. Inspect it before you put any fuel in it. It does heat up a pot of water or soup good.

First I didn't buy this from amazon. I ordered it from walmart.com because amazon was sold out. When I first received the lantern the glass was cracked. The seller sent me a replacement. The glass the comes with this lantern is garbage. Its paper thin. I ended up ordering a Dietz blizzard globe and it fits perfectly. I also ordered a new burner from Dietz as well. Now that I have changed those parts this thing preforms great. I Like it so much I ordered one more. I have used them to cook beer weenies and make soup and tea. It is not going to replace your stove but in an emergency it will cook and heat up food. Also this thank will really heat up the room. I used both in my open floor plan house and it heated up living room kitchen and dinning room and my heat was not kicking on. It was in the 30's outside and it had my home 72deg and thermostat set on 70. I run klean heat or k1 kerosene in my lanterns. There is zero smell and no soot long as you keep the wick trimmed and low. It really gives you piece of mind knowing you can can heat up food and heat your room in an emergency. I would have gave it lower stars but the lantern body is made well. It has a large base. the pot that comes with this lantern is great quality. I am going to order a Dietz 2000 next so see which one is better.

Omg , where to start ? The first issue was that the wick would not raise and lower . Had to tweak the wick channel to get that working . We get the lantern lit and there is a very uneven flame with lots of smoke . Mind you , we waited 30 minutes after adding K1 to the reservoir. Had to make an angular cut on the wick to get the flame manageable . Flame looked good with no smoke and then after 10 minutes of burn time I heard a loud POP ! The damn globe just burst for no apparent reason ! Idk where a RAYO lantern is made but it’s total junk . Still not decided if I need to try and order a new globe or just throw the entire thing in the trash ! Right now it’s in the corner of my shop waiting for me to decide . 🤔
