At first I was hesitant to order this particular phone jack due to some of the negative reviews. I spent quite a bit of time looking in other websites; however, Amazon offered the best deal (as usual) and free shipping. I came to the conclusion that other sites offering other brands also had some negative reviews, so I might as well take a chance with the Amazon link and save the shipping while I was at it. ;)Other reviews warned to read the instructions closely and to follow them, which I did. I needed the phone jack in order to hook up a telephone line to the back of my DVR Dish Network receiver. This would save me $5 per month on my bill if they could access the DVR via a phone line. I plugged it in per the instructions; I put the main unit in the bedroom wall where I already had a phone jack. Then I placed the other part in the living room where the DVR resides. Amazingly, the signal went thru several walls and furniture. I called Dish Network on my cell phone so they could check the phone line on the DVR and it worked perfectly.Needless to say, I'm very happy with the quality of the RCA phone jack, it was very easy to install, just like they claimed and my husband was glad to not have dealt with the installation, since I did it. Another great buy from Amazon. :)

I ordered this item for use in our family room in our new home, where for some reason the builder didn't think to include a phone jack. Once we installed the wireless jack, we began to get intermittent buzzing on the line each time a call was made or answered. Thinking it may be the phone, we ordered a different type of phone, but found the same issues remained.Unfortunately, between ordering the new phone and going on vacation for two weeks, we went a few days past the 30 day return policy and now Amazon is refusing to accept out return. Interesting because the seller, TNT said they follow Amazon's return policy so they don't want to help either. It seem because we made an effort to try and make this jack work properly, we are stuck with a purchase we can't use. Thanks Amazon and TNT for your understanding! Last time I make a purchase from either company.

We purchased this item to use with our all-in-one printer (with fax) where there was no phone jack. It works great for this because you don't have to worry about sound quality. I tested it with a regular phone and it has some static sound but, if you place the units close enough to each other it sounds almost perfect.--------(Update)----------I started to use this with a telephone and you will hear static but, once your in the call it seems to go away. I can recommend this now for Fax and Phone Use.

I purchased this to add a phone line to the 2nd floor of my house (which does not have a phone jack) - simply adding a traditional phone line, no VOIP, no TIVO, nothing fancy. We have DSL, so I used the 2Wire filters and tried every phone jack in the house for the base. Some had a clearer connection than others, but with every attempt, after 5 seconds to 60 seconds, the line would disconnect and the remote phone was left with no connection. I reset the units, followed all troubleshooting options, and still had the same problem.I returned this unit - I don't know if this was an individual defect, or another symptom of a faulty product, but based on the negative reviews, I won't be ordering another to find out.

The advertising for the RCA RC926 is deceptive. While it is described as a wireless modem jack, only after one opens the package and looks at the documentation does one discover that the modem speed is limited to 14,400 baud and more usually 9600 baud. That was slow even 5 years ago; now it is virtually useless when most modems operate at 33600 or 56000 baud

This item works as advertised, but does not provide high-quality or clear audio.I tested it at an electrical outlet not surrounded by electronic equipment. It put out a lot of static. I installed it at an electrical outlet next to a power strip operating electronic equipment and got the same high level of static.Pros: It installs easily and provides an extra phone jack at the location where it plugs into an existing phone jack. This let me continue to use my landline phone. I did not expect this extra phone jack.Con: The audio quality of the telephone line that plugs into the remote receiver is poor.I will keep the unit because it provides an adequate signal for interaction between my receiver and my satellite provider. Otherwise I would return it.

These phone jacks are great! You can put them anywhere in the home with just a basic pug in, no installation. The cost was just under $40. My cable company charged over $10 more than that to come out to install 1 jack. Not to mention I would have to be available at the times that they gave me. With this there was no wait other than the wait time to receive it in the mail. They are great!

Pros:-Great for those areas of the house that does not have access to any phone jack.Cons:- Expensive for such an old tech ( that's to be expected I guess since not alot of demand for it these days.)So far, this device work as it should out of the box. I use it primarily to connect my printer. ( My wife use the fax function for her work). This device allows me to move the printer to a more convenient location other than the kitchen - where the phone jack is located. I cannot comment about the phone function since I don't use it to call anybody. I will leave that up to other reviewer. It's more than sufficient for my need sending occasional fax. My wife and I are quite satisfied with this product.
