So far 5 stars. Haven't used on job yet but I open my propane tank for my grill and it detected that right away with it barely open then I opened a jug of R410A freon just cracked it slightly and it detected that very quickly so I think it's going to be pretty good. Seems pretty sturdy and the case is nice so I'm looking forward to it hopefully being a good tool for the future

This little guy is SWEET! Doing the typical UV dye sucks when you got a leak where you can’t see but this little guy is amazing for automotive HVAC. Definitely wish I had one of these a bit sooner in the mechanic trade.

I used this to find a small leak on my vehicle's AC system. It takes about 30 seconds to "warm up" and zero out, but afterwards it seems to be fairly responsive when you get near the source of a leak, which in my case was R134a. It turns out I had a bad O-ring, and after getting the system evacuated, I was able to perform the repair myself. That saved me a ton of money and I just had to pay for a recovery and recharge.

This review is for, Rechargeable HVAC Refrigerant Leak Detector, Halogen Freon Sniffer, Air Conditioning Detection, Automotive Gas Finder (SFD201 Refrigerant&Combustible Gas Detector)This Rechargeable Refrigerator Leak Detector, this is a great toll to have in the house for the fridge. Those motors on the refrigerator are loud and sometimes make it impossible to hear for those leaks, so that is where this tool is very handy. It has a sniffer tool and that is awesome to have because sometimes it is hard to tell where the odor is coming from and what direction. I would recommend this to anyone, it is a valuable tool to have. I will give this, five stars.

When charging an AC or fridge system, you'll have a motor or engine going to drive the compressor nearby. That can make it hard to hear leaks even if there is a small whistle. This allows you to put the "sniffer" tube near the plumbing joints and see if it alarms to show you a leak (not depending on being able to hear it). Sometimes what sounds like a leak may just be the normal gas flow in the tubes fooling some, so this will prove real issue or not. Also checking that the charge connection isn't leaking after adding refrigerant can be just as important so someone's AC continues to work for a good while. Good tool to double check things and be sure you have happy customers.
