Plugging the power connector into the line splitter separates the hot/live conductor from the neutral and ground. It provides safe measurements of current without the need to cut off the plug and separate the conductors.

I got this item frankly because it was cheaper than the other ones, and I mean how much better could the others be for what a line splitter is? Fit and finish is decent and I like that it has voltage test points. I was rather surprised by the large size of it though, I thought it would be at least half the size that it is but it isn't a problem or a bad thing. One thing I found funny was the illustration in the manual that looked like it was done on MS Paint. Made in China.

Great device for use with my multi-meter. I love that it has voltage tester holes in the front.I've got to take off a star because the female end wants to spit out most of the things I plug in - especially plugs without a ground terminal. With that said, it was easy to work around this for the price.

I like the ability to see amp results both 1X and 10X. Seems to provide accurate results. No complaints at all.

Very practical tool. It eases the measurement because you dont have to open the power outlet to pick every wire you want to analyze.

Both of the male end blades were slightly bent up so I turned it upside down, put them on a hard surface and pushed down to get them properly aligned. It really didn't take much. Otherwise it's fine. The female end is able to retain whatever is plugged into it and I'm getting accurate readings at 15A.

Coupled with a clamp multi-meter, this is perfect for measuring power usage of hungry appliances - in my case, primarily air conditioners and other devices with compressors. Will also come in handy eventually to document power usage of certain computers...Affordable too!
