I bought this to test insulation on Ditra Heat. It worked well and i am happy with the purchase. After buying two of the cheaper ~$50 units- one lasted for one job and the second arrived not working. The Elike and other brands are really poorly made. They may work for some people but having one break right before i want to tile is a real stinker. The ~200 price tag is worth it for reliability

Looking for a MEGGER... for the money, this is the one to get. If you're looking at Extech (I have a lot of their meters and they're also very good), you can save $100 and go with the REED... It's the same meter if you look closely. Comes with a hard cover case and three leads. The only complaint is that you will want to purchase a insulated alligator clip set for hands free testing of motor leads.

The ST-5500 does better and more than most high end multimeters. Very durable and exceeds expectation of military testing of heavy equipment motors and controllers. Co workers were so pleased with its fuctionality that I had to order one for them. Seeing how well this meter worked another co worker purchased mine now I need another. Will reorder very soon. Fast shipping and transaction. AAAAA++++

This gave me totally bogus readings so I returned it. I ended up borrowing an expensive one that worked. I'm lucky I didn't tear the heating element out of my floor based on the reading I got from this. Hopefully I just got the one bogus reader that made it through production and all the others are trustworthy.

No it's not a fluke but it does not come with the Fluke price either. As far quality it works just fine. I think this meter is a real find. Money saved is money in the bank.

Meter works great, but the instruction book with it is incomplete and poorly written, making on line research a must.

Good price/quality ratio. Works well for basic testing in the electrical trade. Dose what I need it to with a simple interface and didn't break the bank. Good buy!
