Front mounted hitch receivers allow a variety of accessories to be mounted on the front of trucks, vans, or SUV’s to perform tasks that make outdoor adventures and activities easier and more fun. Accessories are easily interchanged, so the receiver is a practical and versatile addition to sporting and work vehicles. All front mount receivers have a 2” square receiver tube opening and all attachments are J-Pin ready. Front mounted receivers offer a secure and useful attachment point and offer 9000 lbs. of line pull and 500 lbs. vertical load. The METALSHIELD protective coating process is a three step finish consisting of a rust inhibiting primer, dipped E-coat electrostatic coating to insure total finish coverage and finally an outer powder coat finish for durability. The METALSHIELD process is an OEM compatible finish providing the best corrosion protection over brands that use only powder coat on their products. Install time is an estimated 20 minutes and requires 18mm and 3/4" wrenches and 1/2" drill bit.

The instructions are very simple once you have the hitch in front of you. There are a couple of permanent modifications to the truck. They are drilling 2x 1/2 inch holes in the chassis, trimming of the air dam on the bottom of the bumper and fettling to trim that sits behind the factory tow hooks. The kit comes with different hardware for various scenarios. You'll need a torque wrench to do things per the instructions. My truck has factory tow hooks - so I removed the factory tow hook bolts, removed the air dam, removed some plastic trim pieces that sit behind the factory tow hooks and offered up the hitch using a trolley jack. To my surprise it fitted perfectly. All the angles were spot on.I used the supplied M12 tow hook replacement bolts that are a little longer than factory to locate the hitch in place.Got a 1/2 inch drill bit and used the hitch as a template to drill 2 holes into the chassis.Installed the supplied 1/2 inch bolts using the fasteners they call "handle nuts". These are a really cool idea. Nuts with a 4 inch bendable handle that allows you to maneuver the nut into place via small holes in the chassis. This made the operation child's play. Then torqued everything up per the instructions.I had to trim the plastic trim pieces that sit behind the factory tow hooks and the air dam.But the result looks very subtle. Very happy with the outcome. I use it for a bike rack.

Installed on a 2002 Silverado 1500 light duty. Fit was good and required drilling 2 holes (1/2") for bolts. The nuts for those had long tabs to fish them through access holes in the frame. I bent the tips of the tabs down at the appropriate length to help me position and hold them in place while lining the nuts up to thread the bolts through. The welds and finish on the unit look good. Love having a front hitch to make maneuvering short trailers that are hard to see when towed in back much easier and more precise.

Perfect fit for my 2004 Chevy Silverado Crewcab 4x4 Z71. I had to drill two holes which were 1/2" diameter. I used by Dewalt 1/2" cordless 18-volt drill, using steps from 1/8" to 1/4" to 5/16" to 3/8" to 1/2" It was easy. I used the 1/2" drill to mark the center to start the process. From getting the tools out for the installation to putting everything away, it took about an hour. I did not raise the pickup, just worked while it was parked in the drive. Nice installation, and nice hitch. We will use it for a bicycle rack while vacationing.

I installed this on my 2001 Chevy Tahoe and although the instructions say 20 minutes plan on it taking about 45 with the tips I learned. Use a floor jack to put it in place, it balances very well and I did it all alone this way. The biggest trick was the metal bars with the nut for the back hole, they have to be slid through a 1" access hole and pushed to the hole that you have to drill. After fighting with the first one inside the frame rail I put a bend in the end of it so when it would stick out the access hole so it can easily be moved into position from the outside of the frame. The best part of this hitch is it's made in the USA and the instructions were obviously written by someone who has actually installed one before (simple and to the point).

This hitch was supposed to fit my 2005 Suburban with no drilling, however it did require me to drill 2 holes in the frame. The holes were drilled easily and the hitch was simple to mount. I use it for a front-mount bike carrier. The total install time was about 15 minutes and I'm not a mechanic. I undid the 2 bolts holding the front hooks on, attached the hitch to that mounting point, drilled 2 half inch holes for the rear mounting point, placed two thread adapters into the frame and then bolted the rear. The only fiddly part was lining up the thread adapters, but I figured it out pretty quick.

I easily installed this on our 2004 Yukon XL 1500. Two of the four install bolts are ready to go, the other two bolts need to have their holes drilled into the frame. At first I struggled with this, then later had an ephiphany. The easy way I found to drill those two holes in the frame was to jack up the car, set up a heavy duty drill facing upwards, and release the vehicle jack onto the drill bit, therefore using gravity to force the drill bit into the frame.badabingbadaboom and done.

The 65023 fits the 2000 Tahoe ( not the 65005 ). Excellent welds, excellent functionality. Just installed so I can use winch.

A hitch is a hitch is a hitch. Having installed lots of them, this one seems about par for the course. Reese's products tend to fit a little better/be a little more corrosion resistant/better fit and finish than most competitors, and this one was no exception.I did have to drill some additional holes in the frame (contrary to what the online marketing message states), but this is typical for most hitch installations and the job could be done with a reasonably powerful cordless drill and standard bit. There was no need to cut the fascia or bumper; gives up some front clearance for off-roading, but not more than an inch or two. With two of us working on it total install time was under :45. Use it mainly for hauling bikes on a hitch hauler when towing the boat and it works great for that application.
