Worked for towing some U-Haul trailers. The nut is 1-1/2â€. I was expecting a 1-1/4†nut, and had to last minute scramble; due to my planned LEAN just in time deliveries. It was the literal biggest socket at AutoZone, and the last one. Something to also keep in mind is the 250 ft-lbf torque requirement.

It works. Towed my Uhaul like a pro. Solid, stable. Good. BUT... after just two weeks, there are signs of corrosion on the bottom edge. I guess it's just chrome plated with non-stainless steel beneath. Get what you pay for. It is nice and heavy though. These things are supposed to rust... any old pickup truck has a rusty knob on the back.
