I have installed 3 of these units in friends trailers and they have all worked perfectly. They work well and having the remote control inside the RV is a nice feature,

Didn't really need the ECO mode or remote. My no name 1kw sine wave inverter previously used would shut down for a high DC input voltage error at 14.5 V every time the LifePo4 battery was recharging to 14.6 V. Renogy claimed theres was set to over input voltage shutdown at 16 V. Installed it and put it to the test. Not sure if it really over input voltage shuts down at 16 V, but it works great at my max voltage of 14.6 V.

I purchased this to add a reliable pure sine inverter to my setup. It was replacing an old 900w Cobra (non sine) inverter which has served me well for about 8 years. I was excited as I would be able to run my PC from this unit.Setup was easy, no issues with install. The unit had some heft and looked of top-notch build quality.I did notice that the ECO feature didn't always work, it would occasionally fault with a 120w restart load. This would require me to go into the cabinet and manually flick the switch off and on. I eventually just kept it set to the ON mode rather than having it fail intermittently and beeping at me. Just a mild annoyance that the ECO mode didn't work as advertised, which is why I bought this model rather than the Non-ECO version. I have enough solar to not worry about the small load the inverter itself took... So not a deal-breakerI ran this for a month with no issues (beside the previously mentioned ECO faults), never pulling more than 250w max (outside of initial setup testing which I pulled 800w for 2 minutes) Normal workload was between 30-120w constant (24/7). So, a rather light work load. I went with this model in case we have an extended power outage from a storm (I'm in central Florida). In an emergency it would power a window AC and the kitchen fridge. As luck would have it I was sitting in my office (72F ambient) where it was housed and heard the fans kicking on a bit more than usual. After about 10 minutes of this I heard a loud POP and the inverter started belching smoke. It kept running and did not blow the fuse in or out. I quickly turned it off. The well ventilated cabinet my solar electrics are housed in was 80F at the time of failure (the inverter is the only heat source in there). This really bothers me. Whatever safety features are built-in did not work. I do not work from home and had I not been sitting there as it happened I have no doubt that this would have caused a fire.I use several Renogy panels and a Rover 40li charge controller. They have worked like a champ - no issues. Because of this I bought the inverter and the Bluetooth monitor for it. I thought I was paying a premium for the reliability, however this seems not to be the case.If you own this model, please be careful. If you are considering buying it, take what you will from my review. This will be the last Renogy product I purchase.

Bought this to replace a cheap 1000 watt inverter to run my mini fridge I thought buying a higher quality would be better even though it says it has a 2000 watt surge it will not run my mini fridge it goes into overload

I’ve been using this inverter for a few weeks now, and while it does its job most of the time, there are a few issues that make it less than ideal. The main problem I’ve encountered is that it occasionally indicates a battery failure even though the battery is perfectly fine. This can be frustrating, as it makes troubleshooting more difficult than it should be.Additionally, the much-advertised ECO feature doesn’t seem to work at all. It’s disappointing because I specifically chose this model for its promised energy-saving capabilities. On the positive side, it’s easy to set up and handles moderate loads without any hiccups.

Purchased this unit just over a month ago. When I received, the remote cable would not connect to the port (it would slide it, but it would not click in, meaning it would just fall back out again). Evidence of poor design and quality control. Furthermore, I purchased the BT-2 module, which connects to my other renogy products, but will not connect to this inverter. Having to send back and buy a replacement. Very disappointed.EDIT: I returned the defective unit and Amazon replaced it free of charge. The new unit arrived and the BT-2 module connection was instantly successful this time. It's a real shame that the defective unit will probably end up in a landfill, and I was really hoping it was just a firmware issue, but it was important enough for me for all of the unit's features to work properly out of the box. I still wish my support experience had been better and that we would have been able to solve the initial issue without having to replace the unit, but I am thankful the the replacement was efficient and that the new one now seems to work.

UPDATE 2: I take back everything good I said about this company. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE. They offered me a $100 Amazon gift card for my problems, and then 10 days later (after I asked for an update on the status of the gift card) they sent me an $80 gift card for Amazon.COM... and I'm in Canada. So I can't even use that card without paying an insane amount of shipping and duties on whatever it's used for. I've reached out, and again, service is nonexistent. AVOID RENOGY LIKE THE PLAGUE.UPDATE: Renogy has promised to do better. I complained quite strongly about my experience and it made it all the way to senior management and Renogy CEO. They seem like they've heard what I had to say, were very apologetic and understanding, and seem to be actually taking it seriously. They've committed to better training for their Customer Support in regards to product knowledge, they are improving the support ticket system, they are adding more tech's to help with support tickets, they're looking into the quality control issues, and checking into the app problems. Of course, these changes won't happen overnight, but it makes me happy to have a genuine response towards their improvement. Their response has been quite impressive, and I genuinely think they mean what they say.Previous review: Do not buy Renogy. The price and app functionality is not worth being locked out of your system from an app update, quality control problems, and it's definitely not worth the customer service runaround when you need help. I'm leaving this as a 1-star review until Renogy seems to take customer support seriously.Pros:1. This inverter seems to work fine, if you get one that works as intended (See cons)2. I have ran a 450W load through this for 1 hour - it ran well and I didn't hear the fans turn on at all. Seems like it has nice power output and it seems efficient.3. It's an attractive unit, if you don't get one with cosmetic grossness like I did.4. Being able to monitor and see how many watts is being drawn from the inverter via BT-2 module and app is quite nice, when you're not locked out of the app.Cons (applies to the first unit I received before getting a replacement unit from Amazon):1. Renogy can be very difficult to deal with and has clear quality control problems.2. First unit I received arrived with something small rattling around inside the unit.3. It wouldn't communicate with the BT2 module, couldn't connect it to the app.4. The remote switch port didn't properly fasten the plug, and it was being held by friction only.5. The App looks nice, but is not that good. Feels like a Beta. Although the recent update does seem a bit more polished. So hopefully they are progressing in this regard.6. And the biggest con - Renogy's support. I should know better by now that their support is hit or miss, but mostly non-existent. Contacted them the same day I received and installed the first unit, as well as 2 days later for a follow up and more detailed message. UPDATE: I forced the issue and got a replacement unit through Amazon. Renogy Support then finally followed-up on my initial request for support 2 WEEKS LATER, without them knowing that the unit had already been replaced and installed in less time than it took them to reply - and they responded telling me that the BT-2 module doesn't work with this Inverter. Welp, that person is very wrong, because this inverter works fine with BT-2, when it's working as intended. LOL - This is what I mean.I got a replacement through Amazon, which looks like someone did something very nasty all over it (see pic), but it is working fine and feels like a good unit aside from the cosmetic grossness - so I'm keeping it. But I really cannot recommend Renogy at this point. I entered my purchases excited and looking forward to the product, but that quickly turns sour when you need support.Renogy seems to have clear Quality Control and Customer Support problems. If you do want to buy Renogy, buy it through Amazon so you can take advantage of their extra leverage and returns policies.
