  • Does this solar inverter limit PV current? I'm not getting my full power?
  • When setting up the solar inverter, ensure Program 36 (PV Charging Current) and Program 7 (Maximum Charge Current) are set to their maximum to ensure no PV current clipping.
  • What Is an Inverter Charger with MPPT?
  • It is an Integrated unit with MPPT solar charge controller, pure sine wave inverter, and battery charger in one compact unit to let you enjoy the stable power from the sun and the utility grid to keep you powered under any circumstances. Renogy's 3500W 48V Solar Inverter Charger combines solar charging, AC/generator battery charging, and battery inverting into one convenient solution to take your off-grid system to the hybrid level.
  • Can I use this inverter to charge my batteries?
  • Yes. Compatible with 48V battery banks, this solar inverter charger keeps your battery charged with solar panels and AC/generator.
  • Can I use the inverter with a 24V system?
  • No. This model can only work with a 48V battery system.
  • What size inverter should I buy?
  • 1. Sizing the right power output. Make sure your inverter charger can handle at least 1½ times the load of continuous demand you expect to have regularly. To figure this out, simply add up the wattage of each device you plan on running simultaneously. Be sure the inverters you’re considering will be able to supply enough AC power. 2. Check your battery voltage. The DC voltage rating on the inverter will tell you what battery bank it is compatible with. For example, a 48V battery bank will require an inverter that is compatible with 48V DC input. 3. Size your installation spaces. What area or space will you set your inverter? Make sure the inverter will fit in the space you have in mind with enough room around it for proper ventilation and no fire hazards. 4. Remote operation is important. Renogy pure sine inverters come with convenient remote control (BT-2 )and DC HOME APP options so that you can operate the unit from afar.

I've had this up & running in the high-desert of New Mexico, 24 hours a day, for over a year;in temperatures ranging from 110F+ to -24F-.And it has worked great. And is still working great.Electricity expects you to pay attention, and work within the parameters of your equipment. When you don't, it will let you know by not working ... or worse ... or so ...

I've had a love/hate relationship with this product. I'm using it with a small off-grid solar system that I'm using to run just a large pool pump. A split phase output would have been nice, but there is a setting that allows you to wire the output to a transformer, so that helps in cases where you need to run a 240V load. The price on this unit is great and the build quality is pretty good. The challenge for me has been the settings and navigating all the menus. I think I've got it sorted now, but be prepared for a lot of trial and error :)

I ordered one of these as an impulse to upgrade the solar system in my RV. I had plenty of solar panels with an open voltage of about 130 volts. RV also has a 4000 Watt generator. the idea was to use the solar inverter to extend my dry camping Time before I run out of gas or the engine oil needs changed in my generator. The problem I had was is the charge control loop is broke/buggy or way too picky if it kicks out at any point for any reason generator stalls just randomness even for half a second, it stops charging completely. After that it does not charge using the 120V input ever again. It ran $1000 worth of interstate AGM batteries completely down. The only way I was able to get it to working again was to unplug it and power down for over an hour and then miraculously when power was reapplied it would work. At least until the generator stumbled or something stupid happened again and then I was back to fighting trying to get it to charge the batteries.Worse multiple times I got it stuck in a situation where even with a generator running solar coming in everything turned on the inverter would not turn on. No error codes just no power output but with power lights and everything on as normal on the unit power switch turned on tried every option under the sun same result, no power. I showed the inverter being off. It just would not kick on the inverter. Shut off the generator suddenly the power turns on. Bad bypass maybe? I got it to say it was in bypass mode and it ran like it should exactly one time and after that it never did it again.I got tired of fighting with it and if this was happening while I'm on the road, I would be in trouble. I work remote while I'm on the road. I sent it back. After some research it it appears most of all the inexpensive all-in-one units on the market riht nowe are all made by the same company, SRNE. Renogy is just having these rebranded and in this case it looks like they rebranded old buggy equipment and charged more than other companies are charging for the latest versions with updated LCD.I also found several reviews for the reviewers had the same exact problems I had. That cemented my decision unfortunately I had to send this back. Amazon does not carry the latest model Growatt 3000TL LVM-ES (yet) they just have the old ones which literally have the same LCD screen etc as the Renogy. The growatt on I ordered from elsewhere is stackable up to six units. It has only good reviews on youtube the renogy 48v 3500 watt only has BAD reviews on youtube. Amazon should really stop selling it.I really wish I would not have wasted my time on this half baked Solar Inverter, done some research and ordered what I have on the way the first time..

I bought this invert all in one system while it was on sale and I had high hopes for it. The initial setup was easy enough however I did have concerns relating to the hooks ups for the AC in line being too small which lead them to feel fragile. the main hook ups for the battery leads were of a decent size however way too close together and the solar hook up area were much like the AC in hooks ups being too small and fragile feeling. The system seems to charge well via solar however it does not charge well via the AC input. The Bluetooth dongle that had to be bought separately quit working after about 3 months and the app is all but useless. After spending hours trouble shooting and reaching out to Renogy's discord I ended up having to find a better option to charge my off grid system. So in short it works mostly however unless you are in a pinch go with a better product.

Quiet changeover, everything you need in one!I hope this lasts for a while! So far so good 8/23/21Make sure to adjust the charge output to your battery specs and size, BEFORE using Gen/land power (Default 120A) Putting 120A into small bank will cause the other reviewers issues

I am living with this although not happy. The interface took a while to figure out. When they say up or higher if they mean press the down button and one day say download lower press the button. It is noisy out for some reason makes most of its noise while it's not running the inverter but just a charging. The last one made a no noise during this stage.
