This is a great quality solar panel. I have had a few other small trickle panels and a cheap flexible plastic one (total waste of money) and I am really impressed with the power and quality of this panel. It is really too strong for a trickle panel, but i find I can put it in the shade and it works fine with less power and it will totally charge up a "dead" car battery in no time (paired with a cheap charge controller, made mobile safe by hot glue gunning wiring points). I bought a panel this strong because I got a great sale price on it. Very worth it. Small enough to be portable and easily moveable and will fit on my dash even and large enough to really kick ass, charge up a lead acid battery and all my 5 volt usb lights and devices. Great for camping. My only problem with this panel on the onset was that it came with Renology MC4 connectors attached and I had trouble deciding whether to buy more of those or rip off the MC4 connector and just convert to 12 volt automotive water proof connector I already had on hand. For my uses, I was better off without the MC4 (a waterproof rating not size rating) I decided, and I finally pried them off and converted to the 12 volt auto connector, but the psychological block really impacted my project.

Best price at $62 I have seen Nov 27th, 2024. I have seen some reviews where others have bought this same panel model at $50 but this is the best price I have bought at. They have worked great for me. I have never used any other solar panel so I can't compare. The best power out I have seen is 85 Watts per solar panel but I believe I could get just past 90 Watts if I change my arrangement to the best 100% best facing area but where I have them just works out for me. I am also using a Renogy MPPT charge controller with a few. I also have a cheaper brand MPPT charge controller and can see huge difference in power output with the same panels. I don't have enough experience to say Renogy MPPT charge controllers are the best, but I can say not all MPPT charge controllers are the same. I am still picking up alot with solar and believe just like anything else, one person can have a great experience while another has a bad experience with the same item. Check reviews and check your item as soon as you can to return if it doesn't work right. Go with what works for you. Where I live, power is cheap but I like having a medium sized emergency system.

I bought 4 of these about 8 years ago and put them on the roof at the ranch. After 8 years of extreme Texas heat, freezing, hail and high winds they're still pumping out 400+ watts daily. Recently purchased 8 more, arranged them in an 800 watt configuration, 2 strings of 4 panels wired in series then running in parallel. I have seen these panel push out over 800 watts even after connecting them with 100' extension! I convinced a good friend that these were the panels for his ranch, he purchased 5 of them wired in series and they power his cabin and charge his battery bank perfectly. I have seen these panels take abuse, dropped, hailed on, items dropped on them etc. I have never once, since I purchased my original panels for the ranch, cleaned them and 8 years later they're still pushing above the rated wattage. I know that there are other panels on Amazon that are cheaper, but if you're looking for a panel that you can set and forget, I think after 8 years of testing and abuse, Renogy has earned my trust. I'm getting ready to build another 800 array and you can bet these are the panels I'll use.

The panels (5-stars) work well...when......they actually get around to shipping them to you. I've eeduced 2-stars because of the aggravation with shipping.The vendor/Amazon will claim that the item has shipped, for weeks, but the truth is revealed as UPS (the record of truth) always denies receiving the the item(s). You may get the item in 3 weeks.This situation is worse if the panels are on sale (10% off, etc) - even longer transit times. You may get the item in a month or more.So the panels are very good but shipping games are terrible.Also, the vendor hasn't figured out how to use packing tape (say 3-4 8" pieces), so that their overall good packaging won't pop open - with damaged items eventually arriving.To be fair, they will provide you with a UPS label to send them back. This is good.Those responsible for these Renogy fulfillment blunders should be replaced, yielding more profit for Renogy and more satisfied customers that spread the word.I am ready to buy 6-7 more of these 200W panels, but...what further headaches will I be dealing with?It is amazing how some of these companies manage to make a profit. This isn't rocket science! One smart person put in charge of fulfilling orders, and like magic, business would improve a lot.I will update this review when I attempt this drawn-out journey again.Update 10/4/24:This last panel ordered arrived quickly and in a nice new sturdy box. See what happens when the smart people get involved. Adding one more point!

Panel works as expected, but, in retrospect, I should have gone for two 100 watt panels rather than one 200 watt.If a shadow passes on any part of the panel, the current output is considerably reduced (see 'shadow effect' elsewhere).I only found this out when I had to set up the unit on the ground while the roof was being replaced.

Renogy is TOP of the line in my book.I will not purchase any other panel.These are well built with superior resistance to elements. Have purchased 2 of these already and will continue to purchase until amount needed is reached. A great product...

The factory cables with MC4 connector are so simple to use. Even in this December late season sun they were producing respectable output. Used the renogy brand Z clips and it couldn't be easier to mount.
