Bought to keep an eye on the bale temperatures after harvesting as moist bales can cause bale fires (and barn loss). Accurate enough for this use, but would have liked a slightly more sturdy and pointed probe for bale insertion. Dial not that easy to read for older eyes.

I’m obsessed with compost. In the past I had never attempted hot composting - partially because I didn’t own a thermometer and partially because I was just too intimidated. But I am now the proud owner of a compost thermometer and it’s so nice to be able to keep track of the temperature so I can make adjustments and have a successful hot compost pile. The box has helpful information about compost and what the temperature ranges mean. I love this product

Bought 3 compost tumblers since I have so much kitchen waste. I had been digging holes and getting rid of it this way, but it is hard to dig a hole big enough for 15 gallons of chopped up kitchen waste. I needed to see if the compost was getting up to temp because I need this process to go fast before my buckets are full again. This is the perfect length and easy enough to read. So far, all 3 tumblers are up to temp and I just have to make sure it doesn’t dry out.

I Wish I had one of these when I started composting. So helpful,l. Now I know when to turn my pile for greatest efficiency.This os built well. Can leave it out in the sun or rain. (I will remove it in winter of course). It reaches well into the core of my pile (pallet bin). Well worth it!
