I just completed the installation after watching 3 tutorial videos on YouTube and then reading the iFixit written tutorial (which was the most helpful). Preparation is the key and watching 3 very different videos on installations helped build my confidence that I could do it. The iFixit tutorial was my step-by-step guide through the process & you could skip the YouTube videos if you're already confident.I gave 4 stars bc I had to purchase $10 adhesive stickers from eBay that are custom made for the iPad Pro 10.5" and I used additional tools that were not included in the bundle. Although, the included tweezer, micro screwdriver & spudger were pretty good quality and probably sufficient, in a pinch. I used suction cups, additional picks, & an iFixit iMac opening tool (really great for opening the iPad up) from previous SSD installation and iPhone battery installs.The battery and motherboard are "glued" to the iPad with really strong adhesives and was the hardest part. Its also important to keep the screw sets separated (I used a 7-day pill container).Anyway, if u adequately prepare, carefully follow the tutorials online, & have the necessary tools, its really not that difficult. I also made sure I ate and drank a cup of coffee so that I wouldn't get easily upset if something was unexpectedly hard.

I had this battery installed the end of January. I had hoped that it would work like brand new as the reviews that I had read said it would. But it isn’t holding a charge at all. I can charge it to 100% and it looses charge when I’m not even using my iPad. If I use my iPad I can get about 2 hours before it is fully discharged. And that’s not watching any videos or anything like that. I thought it would get better as I used it but it’s not happening. I’m so disappointed in this battery.

I took my iPad Pro 10.5 2018 to a repair shop to change the battery. So far, its performance has exceeded my expectations. The battery holds charge like brand new and my iPad also displays the charge percentage of the new battery. Saved a lot by just changing the battery instead of buying a whole new iPad. Definitely worth it!

Original battery was 5 years old and could run YouTube for 4 hours, this replacement Battery can run 4.5 hours with the same test conditions. This is 10 days after the replacement, so the battery should be broken in / conditioned by now.This seems like a battery scam. I spent 4 hours doing the replacement, and had to buy some tools. I would not recommend this to my enemy. It was a pain in butt, with nothing to show for my work… but hey, at least I did not break the device.

Be careful of this battery because it’s just another rip off product without a proper BMS installed on it. I bought one just like this for cheaper two years ago and it was horrible. Buyer beware. My iPad is running hot now which it didn’t do before. I’m a skilled technician so I know I didn’t mess anything up installing this. It just does instead of charging which is another issue as well. This is after an hour of using it and now trying to recharge it.
