I purchased RP24096 replacement stem due to a small leak most likely caused by our very hard water in our area from our well. To install it you simply remove the faucet handle and unscrew the nut holding the stem in place. Make sure you turn off the water under the sink prior to doing this! the stem lifts straight up and out. If it is sticking you can use a pair of pliers to lift it up. Some stems contain a 2nd piece of plastic in the top as a "sizer" to hold on the handle. Make sure you keep this, as you will need it to add back to the new stem prior to installation. Underneath the stem you will find a rubber seat and spring. If these are compressed you should also replace them while you have the stem removed. Once they are replaced, re-install the stem lining it up with the small guide indentation on the side of the stem. It should go back in exactly as you removed it. Replace the hold down nut and handle, turn the water back on, and the leaks are gone!

Replaced seats and springs on a Delta faucet using this kit. No problems with the install and the leak was fixed in about 10 minutes. Just be sure to order the correct part number. I found my model and manual on Delta's website before ordering these and they worked great.

Genuine parts may be no better than the substitutes but, when you are repairing something that needs attention so rarely, the cost difference over years is of no consequence.

The Peerless sink in the bathroom had started with an occasional drip and then moved on to drip every seconds. I wasn't too worried about it because I have to pay the minimum on my water bill anyway and this wasn't going to make my bill go up but the drip was getting annoying. So I ordered these and followed the instructions. Only needed a phillips screwdriver to do the job, took less than 5 minutes and now no more leaks.

Went to Home Depot yesterday and bought a Pro Pack of 50 for 9 bucks. I wanted to fix a slow leak. Speaking of slow, 9 days and I still have not received this product,
