This part fits right onto my hero 8 black like it had been made by GoPro itself. Of course, the camera is not waterproof with this aftermarket door, but this is a major improvement to the native functionality. SOOOOO worth the price

I purchased this for use on my GoPro Hero 8 as a video recorder in the cockpit of my plane. Because the battery on the Hero 8 lasts for only about 50 minutes of continuous recording time, I needed the means to have a power supply hooked up for continuous power, and I didn't want to leave the original door open in order to accomplish that. This provides a beautiful and functional means for securely holding the battery in place while providing an opening to allow a USB-C cable plugged in. NOTE: using this means your GoPro won't have water resistance capability.

Worked for what I needed.When I needed to do all day time lapses, didn’t want to worry about battery dying, and leaving it plugged in all day; worked like a charm. With the usb c port accessible, used an extra long usb c cord to connect with wall plug inside (or battery bank). Door fit with GoPro cam without issues. Makes it easier than leaving door open for things to fly in (e.g. sprinkles of rain or sand from wind).Removes the water proof ability (product states as such). Prior, I had to leave the latch open to plug in usb c cord to GoPro cam. It leave me uneasy as dust/sand/particles can fly inside damage/kill the expensive camera. With the door, and the usb c port occupied with cord, it reduces chances of that occurring.

Just received my Gopro Hero 8 pass through door. It fit onto my Gopro easily enough, not as precise as a genuine battery door, but seems to be sturdy in place. Some residue looking stuff on it. May update review once used several times

I use my GoPro while riding my motorcycle long distances. I hate having to check if the battery died. This lets me keep it plugged in while riding all day. Buy some wax earplugs and smash one around the opening if rain is predicted and you have no worries.

I needed a better way to keep my camera powered on without having to keep battery cover open. This worked well on my gp 8. I should have bought long ago.

This piece offers zero water resistance at the charging port but that is not important to me in the least as I always use the clear box when recording. What this piece does offer is incredibly nice, solid workmanship, and the ability to charge without opening the door. I was surprised at how much effort went into making this.

An audio adapter was needed for my GoPro 8 and I used a ParaPace side door replacement in order to run this audio adapter and remote mic. The side door replacement fits similar to original side door and seems to hold the battery very well in its place. This GoPro, adapter and remote mic was installed on exterior of my car, and it worked well when tested. Side door didn't come loose or fall off when car was in motion, although this was done only on side streets at legal speeds. The real test will be when I take the car to the track. I'll update if anything noteworthy happens.

Great for charging on the go! Beware when switching to this door your device is no longer waterproof until you switch the orginal door back. Very simple to do tho so it's worth having if you're alway running low on battery.

Excellent access to the USB port without having to open the door. Just remember that it is no longer "waterproof".

This product does the job, i can keep it plugged while the battery is covered and secured, obviously not waterproof. Made well, it’s metal and lightweight.
