My wonderful HP laptop bottom case and keyboard cover broke. I ordered both pieces and took it to a local computer store who did a great job installing it. Had to go through a third party because HP doesn't make these parts. Received quickly, packaged well, and was the perfect fit.

Mechanically this is fine. There is no keyboard backlighting. I replaced this with one from another manufacturer and it also has no keyboard back lighting so there may be something wrong with my laptop.

I have a 17" HP laptop and over time, the hinges just seemed to get tighter and tighter until the plastic screw housings just snapped. I had to either buy a new laptop or attempt to replace the top half of the computer, which includes the keyboard and touchpad. I wish there had been instructions or an instructional video, but I found one on YouTube. It took me about 2 hours to figure out, but I did it! The most important thing is that it works! The only thing different from my original keyboard is that instead of the backlight being bright or dim, it's blue or white, which works for me.

I wasn't sure which touchpad I had so I purchased both variations and am returning the one that I didn't need. It fits and works perfectly! This is the second time I've had to replace the keyboard assembly on my HP laptop due to the poor design of the hinges (WAY too tight) and the cheap plastic used. This replacement keyboard actually feels more sturdy than the original so hopefully it will last longer than that one did (6 months!!). I swear if the laptop itself didn't perform well, I would've just scrapped it. HP REALLY needs to fix this hinge design or use metal anchors to secure the screws instead of plastic. It's horrible!

Contradiction in compatability description.It either is or it isn't. No response in return request within allotted time frame.Works without mouse pad, but keyboard lighting is not good. An option if you need to have a semi working system.

Works perfectly and has worked a good upgrade to a backlit keyboard, as my original case was not. Would buy again.
