2 for 1 price you can't beat. I've bought a few of these for my reptiles. Wisconsin winters are cold and bitter, these keep my babies warm!

I have been using these heating sources for over 4 years, and for various purposes. I have used them to start seeds, heat dubia Roaches, heat a terrarium to raise crickets, heat up the terrarium for my Cane toad, keep slings(baby tarantula alive), and more. What I have learned is that you never turn it on and walk away. You need to spend time setting it up because:1. Yes, the dial for heat has no temperature indicators2. The more contact the heat mat makes, the higher the temperature3. The colder the ambient room temperature, the lower the temperature of the mat... and so as the room warms with season changes, themat will need to be turned down.4. They work best with a towel over them, or by being in direct contact with what you are heating.5. These DO NOT have an adhesive on them.6. These are no very flexible, and SHOLD NOT BE BEND FOR ANY REASON.If you have money, and no time, buy something else. If you have a tight budget, but can take the time to set the temperature, these are extremely affordable to use with success. One selection of these mats comes with a probe thermometer. I use this with all of my mats when setting them up.The photos provided are electrical and pamphlets and packaging so you can see the notations for testing.I hope this helps you all with the questions you posted concerning these mats.

I use this for checks that were hatched in incubator and I don’t have a mom to keep them warm. I curve it and they can crawl underneath it and they love it.

Mat melted onto a blanket and caught fire on the lowest setting. Fortunately, the fire broke out while we were in the room and we were able to extinguish quickly, however if this had occurred 10 minutes later, we would have been in bed and possibly all d3ad.

I thought these were great for the first few months. Slowly they started losing power. Completely useless after 1 year.

What we did was put a piece of cardboard under the tank and slid the heater in between the cardboard and the bottom of the glass. Honestly, I thought that there was sicky on the heater. But I'm glad there wasn't works much better this way and our lizard is very happy. We have a 20 gal tank and it covers half. He can have a cool place and a warm place.

We bought these for a box turtle, and the heat and performance are perfect. The price was on point for what we were looking for; the quality was good, and they performed as expected.

I use these to heat my land hermit crab tank and have for over 6 months now. I have used foil tape and cardboard to insulate these heat mats and have had no issues. They have enough power to substantially heat the tank even in Canadian winter! I personally do not recommend using any heat mat, including these, without a thermostat. I use this one with a thermostat and it works great for temperature control keeping my tank within my desired range.
