I purchased this heating pad after my heat lamp failed. You can place this pad on the side or underneath the tank, I chose to place it underneath. However, I had to use some pot raisers to lift the tank up enough so it was not sitting directly on the pad. It keeps the one side of the tank at about 72-75 degrees, my gecko Fred loves it.

Got super incredibly burning hot and doesn’t respond to adjustments. I turned it down slightly and it was cold. This sucks. I was worried about my snake all day until I could get home and fix it.

My tarantula, Zelda, is nice & comfy in her enclosure with this heat source. Sticks very well to the glass, hasn't drooped at all, stays warm.

This pad was easy to install, works as intended. The ground of the terrarium is now cozier for our reptile friend. What I think could be improved is the temperature control but for this price point it’s pretty great!

It worked initially but i had to stop turning off the overhead lamp at night until i could get a different one because it wouldn’t even work, cause there were several times in the night i checked and the pad was completely off, no warmth at all.

I do not use this heating pad for reptiles. I use it for bread proofing in my oven. I normally proof my bread with hot water and a damp towel in my oven (not turn on). With this heating pad, I found that 35 C works best for me (about 95 F). I can put my proofing containers directly on top of this pad. Normally, I would spend about 4-6 hours to proof my sourdough bread until it doubles in size. With this heating pad, I cut down my proofing time about 1-2 hours and I do not have to deal with hot water and a damp towel anymore. I like that the cord has flexible plastic coil covered it to protect the wire. There is no timer. You just turn the unit on and set it to the desired temperature. For me, it is 35 degrees. The temperature goes up and down (plus or minus about 0.3 degree). It does not talk long either to achieve your desirable temperature. There is a chart to tell you what temp you need for each pet species. Also, you will get a giant 3M glue pad for your usage which I do not need. All in all, I like this nice heating pad a lot, but for a different purpose.

This is a reptile heating pad with a digital thermostat. It measures 8 inches by 12 inches and it can fit on the side of your tank or underneath your tank. I put this to the side of my tank and set it for the proper temperature for my leopard gecko. It did not seem to send the heat all the way through the glass. I set it underneath the tank and it works much better. This heating pad is very well made and it does get hot. I am having trouble keeping my little gecko warm because the room that he is kept in isn't heated at night. This heating mat helps, but it's not the end answer. I will probably end up covering the tank at night as well with an insulated blanket of some kind, or perhaps using those heat lamps that don't produce lights. In any case, this heating pad does get hot and does as it has promised.

We used this for a leopard gecko tank; stuck it to the outside of the glass just below soil level. Adhesive is excellent (3M) and it gets quite hot for it's size. Will be buying another to make into a chicken water heater.

This is one of the best heating pads I’ve ever used. It’s extremely versatile and great for terrariums, bread proofing and growing seedlings. I’m in the process of building a terrarium and this heating pad will be perfect for it. You can easily adjust and set the temperature. I always set it to a few degrees higher than what I would like the temperature to actually be because there's energy lost during the heat transfer. For proofing bread I keep it at 40°C and cover it with a glass mixing bowl. For growing seedlings, I set it to 25°C. For my terrarium, I plan on setting it to 35°C degrees. I absolutely love the versatility of this heating pad and the size 8x12 is approximately that of a sheet of regular sheet of A4 paper, which is a good size for my needs. Because I will be using this pad for all sorts of things, I haven’t glued it down.I highly recommend this heating pad, as it’s great quality and extremely versatile!

Doesn't heat past 82F on the display even when increased and set to 85F.When checked with temp gun it reads 79F, not very reliable. It sticks well to tank, I just don't feel like I can trust it to work properly. Can't risk burning my snake, and this heat mat isn't helping his digestion at all.

Was working fine for about a month then all a sudden I walked into my room and this smell of burning rubber was there was wondering what the hell it could be and was looking around unit the smoke started had my glass tank on it and for some crazy reason the heat pad was melting it’s self I’m extremely frustrated because I really had my hopes up quality is amazing but I think something with the wiring and safety must have been at fault
