When selecting a size for your snake or reptile, keep in mind that they should fit snugly inside the box. If the snake hide box is too large then it won't be as effective in providing security.
Pangea Reptile Hide Box
These reptile hide boxes are made of heavy 1/8" thick plastic and can withstand just about anything.
The plastic is smooth inside and outside of the hide box making cleaning a snap.
These units are designed for ease of use and sanitation and make great hides for shoebox or tub type rack systems and terrariums.
Door placement is offset to really give your pet a sense of security which aids in reducing stress in captive reptiles.
- Mini: 5.5"x3"x1.5". Recommended for small hatchling snakes.
- Small: 5.5"x4"x2.125". Perfect for young colubrids and hatchling boas and pythons. Fits most standard shoe box rack units.
- Medium: 10"x7"x2.25". Works well for most adult colubrids and juvenile to sub-adult pythons and boas. Fits well inside the 28-32 qt tubs.
- Large: 13.25"x9"x3.25". Good for small adult Ball pythons or similarly sized boas and pythons. Fits nicely in 28-41qt snake tubs.
- Extra Large: 16.25"x11"x4.5". Ideal for normal to large size adult Ball Pythons as well as medium boas or Womas.

Got 2 larges for 4ft ball python. He loves his hides. They're very light, need something to weigh them down, got some stone for this one and his water dish on the other one. Looks great, good value. Plenty of room to enter and fits him snug like he likes.

We got the XL hide for our 4ft. Red tailed boa, Medusa, and she loves it with extra room for her to grow! Great price and easy to install. All smooth edges.

This is very durable and is on the bigger side. We use it for our almost two year old ball python and it's big for him. Would recommend and will buy more when our other snakes are larger.

I have a 4ft ball python male, he gives this two thumbs up. A large would have been too small, he likes to haul his meals in his hide and this affords him the space and privacy to dine to his liking. He's in a 40 gallon breeder tank, depth wise it leaves a few inches on each side, and length it leaves plenty of room for him to do his snake stuff. This is on his hot side and is his favorite hide, if I switch it to the cool side he will just go sit on the cool side and ignore the hide on the hot side. He fits through the entrance just fine, even after eating. It's hard to find hides for the larger snakes that they like but he loves this one. It has held up to the uth and overhead ceramic bulb without warping.Edit: typhon weighs 2653 grams for size reference. He's a big boy. I have the next size down for my 909 gram male and it fits him just perfectly as well.

My sub-adult female ball python loves this hide and spends the majority of her time in it. This fit perfectly in my 28qt tub, and also fits 41qt tubs as well. The hide is large and I recommend measuring your enclosure or tub prior to purchase. The hide is of good quality and easily can be disinfected for long term use. Recommended product for sub-adult or adult ball pythons depending on the size of the snake. I wouldn't use this with any snake smaller than 500 grams, due to the size and makes them feel less secure if too large. I purchased the large size of this product.

We purchased the Large (D) Hide box for our ball python, she is 3 1/2 feet long and 1771 grams. This might be a tad bit big for her only because ball pythons prefer cramped hide spaces and like to be pressed against the sides of whatever they are hiding in to feel safe. It works and she has been using it, but I think a medium might have been a better choice for her. Although, I think that for any other species of snake her size, this hide would be perfect; with some room to grown. To give you a perspective on size, her enclosure is 18 inches wide and 36 inches long....this thing covers most of one side of her enclosure. That being said, my hide box falls a little short in size from the sizes listed on the description of the D size hide box. The size listed states it is 13.25"x9"x3.25" while mine measures 11 3/4" x 7 5/8" x 3 1/4" while the"door" or entrance measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". The hide is nice overall and my snake appreciates it, however, I noticed that it warped rather quickly once I put it in her enclosure (with an ambient temp of 84-86). Not a big deal, my snake doesnt seem to care either way, but that tells me these aren't made like they use to be made. Plastic must be cheaper/thinner. Overall it works, I would purchase it again.
