This retractable hose reel simplifies my maintenance work in the shop when needing to drag out a hose. No more rolling up, untangling and trying to find space to store my air hose. I've had a retractable extension cord for years. Not sure why I waited so long to do the same for my air supply.

I have been wanting one of these for years and I finally got it and I love it. Sooo much better than dealing with the tangly hose I had before. I also don’t have to move the compressor from this place or that. I installed this in the center of our garage ceiling and doing this allows me to have access to all of the garage, driveway and parts of the inside of the house. It takes a little getting used to in order to learn when the stopping points are and how to get it to work but after that it was nothing but smooth sailing. Overall easy to install and have no issues with it.

So this specific hose reel isn't exactly heavy duty, but it's not lightweight either. I would categorize it as middleweight, perfectly fine for the DIY'r. Easy to set up... All you have to do is hook up the short hose that connects to your compressor.. and easy to hang, of course make sure you are hanging on a suitably sturdy wall/studs/blocking accessory. Extends and retracts smoothly, hasn't gotten hung up on me. The 50 ft hose allows me to basically reach any area in my two car garage. I don't detect any loss in air pressure compared to my older 30 ft rubber hose. Overall, it's built pretty well, it seems to work good, and in my opinion worth the asking price.

The entire reel casing and the mounting system are manufactured utilizing a heavy gauge plastic. It swivels left and right however, it does not rotate. The base of the plastic mounting bracket is exceptionally small for the weight of the hose and reel.
