Hard water from well or even EPA approved to drink treated well well can leave your pressure relief valves looking like this. I replaced one on my hot water tank and one on my Boiler to avoid a possible larger issue later.

Photo indicates L100XL is not correct but perfect for my heater tank and exact model number SL100XL that match to my old valve. I also used teflon tape and pipe sealant on the threads into the tank for extra protection against leaks. No leaks so far. This valve is super important to prevent catastrophic tank failure. Test this valve annually.

I measured, thought it was going to fit , 1/2 inch too short , I got a label to print and will return, it is a good product

The L100XL is supposedly discontinued due to lead content. I had a hard time finding the replacement that the manufacturer suggested. Either the shipping time was way too long, or I thought the price was too high.So I looked for an alternative and found this. The dimensions appeared to match up, so I took a gamble. When I did the replacement, it turns out that the body on this is 1/2" shorter than the body on the L100XL. Luckily it didn't make a difference for the neck clearing my tank. Though the piping I needed to connect it to - for the drain was a bit of a pain to get right because it was 1/2" shorter than I expected. Luckily I was able to make it work. I did some testing and it worked great compared to the old one which was leaking badly at the valve.I was happy with this purchase because I got it at what I felt like was a very reasonable price, as well a fast shipping.

Exact product replacement, does not leak like the 11-year old one replaced. Relatively easy installation during a larger effort to replace the magnesium anode rod. This part was as close to trivial as you can get.EDIT: If a new valve leaks, check your water pressure, as you may have a failed pressure reducing valve in the system. It’s a good idea to check line pressure at least twice a year anyway. It’s a very good idea to do that if you are in a hard water area.

Replaced a similar holder when the tensioner finally wore out. Love the tensioner as it gives the option for one hand usage. Very sturdy.
