Attach the carrier’s straps to a vehicle’s roof rack or use Car Clips to attach the straps to the weather molding on your vehicle’s door. This carrier does not require that you run straps through the inside of the vehicle! Dual Lock Straps secure each foam block to the rack or roof, so they don't shift during transport. This canoe kit worked perfectly with the OEM roof rack on our 2016 Chrysler Town & Country. We drove it 200 miles out and back without a worry. The mount was secure all the way. In the past, we've used a Thule rack with canoe cradles, but they don't make a fit kit for our current vehicle and we didn't want to shell out $300 for a whole new rack. This kit was $33 well-spent! The only issue we had was that our van had no place to hook the strap in the center of the back end. We hooked both end straps to the sides of the back end, and for the front, we used a ratchet strap we had on hand. The instructions were even well-written and illustrated. I'm a technical writer, so that mattered to me.
