For some reason my smoke detector went off in the basement bedroom one morning and this worked perfectly. Ring called immediately as we have professional monitoring. I had to pull the battery from the smoke alarm and then the Ring monitor turned off. Worked well; I am hopeful they’ll detect my water leak alarms too. I would recommend these.

Easy, simple listening device. Listens for alarms. Not actually an alarm itself.

I have use nest, protects in the past and have liked the feature of being alerted when smoke or CO is detected, but due to the extreme expense of the units to have them throughout, the house becomes cost prohibitive where with this device, you can buy a much cheaper unit and it will send a signal to the ring and let you know what is happening even when you’re not at home

There are not two units in the package. I saw two in the product image and when I received it I got only 1. Setup is easy and the listener works well. It’s small and clean looking. My only wish is that I had a second one.

We live in a rural area and if there was a fire it would take time for someone passing by to see it. Thank goodness this alarm calls the fire department if we're not home.

These are exactly what they claim to be, listeners. These are not smoke detectors, but essentially smoke detector size microphones designed to be put next to your current smoke detector to listen for an alarm. There are smoke detectors that will interface with your ring system out there and may be a better option. If your renting or live somewhere with an existing integrated system, these may be a perfect addition, but understand what you’re buying before adding to your cart.

These two seconds finished up everything I needed for total protection from my Ring alarm and camera system.Testing: for the CO listener, I simply set the Kidde alarms off. They're networked to each other, so one go off they all do. The listener immediately notified me and the alarm company of the sounding alarm. Before testing, have your Ring Monitoring put your system in test, just in case. For the water/freeze sensor, I put it in my basement near the hot water heater. My water come in pretty close and has a spigot just outside, so if anything is going to freeze or flood, it'd be there. Testing this, I simply put ice in a bag and put it right next to the sensor. As sooner as the bag ended up generating condensation, it alerted to the water and potential for flooding. Waiting a few seconds more allowed the temperature to drop to alert to potential freezing. Amazing! Now, to address the elephant in the room surrounding the CO/Smoke LISTENER. You never have to replace this LISTENER, but do replace your smoke/CO detectors every 5 to 10 years. Ring doesn't make detectors for smoke or CO and it clearly states in the description that it listens FOR certified Smoke and CO alarms. It explicitly states it is NOT a detector. As a result of this, I recommend these two sensors AND the Kidde networked Fire and CO detectors to ensure you are fully protected. You can get a two pack for the cost of one and I KNOW these work excellently together. It all about staying safe and you can't go wrong here at all.
