I wanted to have a compass in the kayak and read that this might be a good option. The installation was a breeze and it secured into place very nicely. I've had it out a few times so far and I'm very pleased with results. It appears to be very durable since I store the kayak upside down and I keep flipping it over for transport as well. So far, I'm very happy.

It has a nice look and feel, beautiful illumination, but still trying to find a spot to mount it where it won't be severely disrupted by radio equipment.

The description is misleading describing the unit has “directional magnets†when in fact the unit arrived with a sticker stating, “this x-21 compass is not equipped with internal compensation.†I guess directional magnets are the basic components that make the compass work instead of making it useful by having adjustment for deviation and compensation.My only ask is be as straight forward in the listing as you are on the package and call out clearly no adjustment available for this model.
