Your cart is empty.Why do I need a Brake-Lite Relay? It stops the brake lights from functioning until the vehicle is started. This prevents the towed vehicle’s brake signal from overriding the motorhome’s turn signal. When you tow without the Brake-Lite Relay, your towed vehicle’s brake lights alone will work fine. Your turn signals alone will work fine. But if you’re braking and turning, the brake light from the towed vehicle will override the turn signal from the motorhome and drivers behind you will be unaware you’re about to turn. You only need a Brake-Lite Relay if you’re installing a supplemental towed vehicle braking system that pushes or pulls the brake pedal.

Installed under the drivers side ,next to the brake peddle. connected to the radio 10 amp fuse that’s powered when the key is on.Located behind the glove box.

I had an issue adding an RVI 3 brake system to my tow vehicle and having the towed vehicle brake lights interfere with the towing vehicle brake lights since both are activated while braking from each vehicle. This relay isolated the towed vehicles brake lights so they are only active when the key is "on" in the towed vehicle. This way the lights of both vehicles are only controlled by the towing vehicle when traveling while towing. It seems to work perfectly now.

Item is well made and has excellent instructions. Paid more to receive the package by April 7 but it didn't arrive until April 10. Would not have been a problem except I went out of town for a week starting on April 8.

Used on a 2018 F-150. It was a bit of a chore to take the dash apart to get to the brake light switch, and has to be tied into the tail light wire from the towing rig. Good to know while that wiring was going in. I did not, and had to re do part of that wiring. I suppose I should have read all the instructions for all the parts ahead of any installation.

The Roadmaster brake light relay is a great addition to our towing setup. In the past we had to attach a magnetic towing light bar to our CRV using a wireless transmitter on our RV tow connector (that usually worked). After a day(s) towing I needed to remember to charge the light bar. Now that entire process is eliminated and the lights/turn signals on the CRV are in sync with the MotorHome.

This kit was easy to install and works 100% like it should. If your motorhome's blinker signal is overridden by the Jeep's brake lights, you need this kit.
