I will use these chisels when cutting cement pavers and blocks. The chisels are heavy and have very nice hand grips and guards. I always use leather gloves and goggles when cutting cement as pieces tend to fly in any direction. The only minor fault I found was with the widest blade, which was ground with a slight curve; but if that becomes a problem it could be quickly ground straight.

COMMENTS: Recently installed a fountain in the front flower bed which required a considerable number of slate rock trims. Only had a rock hammer and soon discovered striking the same place more than once a challenge. Could have used this assortment of chisels then. It is much easier to hold the chisel points in the same place for repeated strikes than it is to repeatedly strike the same area with the pick-end of the rock hammer. The handles on these are large and comfortable allowing you to hold the chisel in place. They tend to absorb much of the shock of each strike. The protective rings a similarly large; enough so to allow you to swing your hammer with confidence since it protects your hand if you are slightly off with a hammer swing. Still need to be accurate enough to keep from striking your unprotected wrist, but that bit of hand protection allows you to swing with a bit more authority with the degree of protection that is provided. The edges are sufficiently sharp, focusing the energy of the blow. The 3 sizes/styles of chisel points increase their versatility. The steel appears hard enough for them to maintain their edge for some time. To further protect them, each chisel has a rubber tip cover. At ~$40, they are a very nice addition to the toolbox. Only downside is that the strike surface of the chisels themselves are somewhat small at 3/4â€.CATEGORICAL GRADING (Where “C†= Average)Presentation/Packaging: BQuality/Craftsmanship/Materials: BPrice/Value/Worth: CFunctionality/Versatility: BInstructions/Ease-of-Use/Comfort: BMarketing vs Reality: BUtility Grade (how useful it will be to me): B*PRECISE RATING: 4RECOMMENDATION: If you do any landscaping using rocks, bricks, or flagstones, I recommend picking up a set of these chisels. Very versatile.(As always, I will report back if there are any durability or performance issues with additional use.)PHOTO INFO (photos are loaded in order, but may be rearranged when finally posted):1) Chisels in shipping box2) Chisels displayed with tip covers3) Caliper reading of strike surfaceI hope you found something informative and useful in this review. Good luck with your decision.*My rating scale:5 = definitely buy again, happy to have it (exceptional in several characteristics,)4 = probably buy again (decent job of doing what I need, excels in one or two characteristics)3 = perhaps buy again after researching options (functions OK, looks OK, decent quality, average life expectancy but no outstanding characteristics) (in other words, average)2 = would not buy again (low end/below average merchandise and/or service, but not totally worthless)1 = sorry I bought it the first time (poor performance in several characteristics, no redeeming characteristics)

These are HEAVY. I honestly was pleasantly surprised with how heavy duty this set felt. The edges are sharp and easy to chisel away without too much effort.

Initially I thought the guard on these chisels was too large, but after using them I found it is a good size and kept my hand from getting hit with the hammer when I mis-swung it. Additionally, the chisels are fairly sharp. For tile removal they were perfect. It was also nice to have the three different sizes to chisel the main part of the tile and to use the smallest one to remove the grout from around the edges. They are solidly build and did not bend or chip at all. These things are beasts and they worked well for me

The tool tip broke during very first use. Busting out concrete, and the tool failed immediately. Thankful for Amazon return policy. Thanks do not recommend.

So for I have only cut one stone with them. Previously to break stones I was just using my hammer. You can get a good cut with just a hammer, but these are much more precise. The stone that I was cutting was to small to use a hammer. I would have never been able to get the cut I needed without the proper tool. These seem like good quality. They have a nice thick grip the registers well in your hand, The added hand guard is a nice touch. If you are cutting stone, these make the job much easier. I wish I had them when I started my project.
