I pruchased a laminate counter top, which came in a few days late and thus, I had to go get one from Lowes to finish the project on time. As soon as the ROOM-TEC laminate countertop arrived, I promptly processed a return, having not even opened the box within a few days of it arriving. I delivered it to the UPS store scanning the QR code and the proof of that scan is the fact that I got a refund from Amazon. Now ROOM-TEC is fraudulently pulling a scam that only they can prove or dis-prove saying that they didn't receive the return. I have nothing to do with the return once I transferred custody of the unopened product to UPS Store and they scanned the code. So a month later, I get a notice that ROOM-TEC has unilaterally charged my card again for the full refunded amount, without warning, without contacting me at all, without due process, and I guarantee you without them doing an ounce of work. I'm sure my return is sitting in the back of their sloppy warehouse and got lost. So instead of getting their act together and finding it or at least tracking it, they take the lazy SCAM route and just charge me, case closed ... And as a customer, I get no warning, no ability to respond, and I get completely ripped off. I don't see how this isn't the definition of a scam. Obviously, I'm entirely powerless in this matter, which is what I hate the most. It's not too much money, but the fact that I know I have to sit here at allow this scam company to take advantage of me is infuriating. Never shop with this vendor ever, and hopefully this warning will protect other customers from suffering the same fate as I did.

My first observation was that this is not finished with your standard flat laid plastic laminate material we have all come to know. The finish surface on this appears to be a thin contact paper with photo of marble to resemble a marble countertop. On the surface is also what felt like a waxy coating that would show marks and damage easily from something as soft as my fingernails. This surface would not withstand the rigors of daily cooking as in a kitchen or daily use as in a laundry room. I can see how pots, pans, dishes and kids would damage the surface very easily. For this reason, I had to return it. The wood portion is made up of thin laminate wood instead of your traditional particle board. My second observation was that there was already delamination occurring at the corners. The contact paper was already peeling off.

This is a beautiful countertop and well worth its money. We wanted to renovate our laundry room and thought it would be best to transform the room with this countertop. Picture is from when I took it out the box. It is very large. We had to cut a few inches off the length for it to fit as a replacement to the old countertop. Easy to cut and sand down. Works beautifully. Pro tip: save the excess pieces and transform them into small floating shelves.

I bought this countertop because it was a composite material, which the main body is. The covering, however, is marble printed paper which is glued on. It’s useless. Won’t stand up to getting wet!
