I have never used a meditation cushion before, but wanted to try one, as sitting on the floor for meditation, my back was hurting very badly. I found many for $80, $100 or more and that was out of my budget. I decided to try this one. Great decision!The cushion and cover is very sturdy, yet the cover is a soft material. I love that it's removable for washing, and also to access the buckwheat hull filling, which is in it's own separate zippered bag or pouch inside - so you don't have to worry about it falling out if you take the cover off. I've also heard some people like to add or remove some of the filling to adjust the cushion (not with this particular brand, just in general) - I haven't done that, but it's nice that is also an option.I had absolutely zero back pain using this cushion, which was amazing to me how completely it just went away. Having never used a zafu before, it did take a bit to figure out how to arrange myself on it comfortably, since as I mentioned I was used to just sitting right on the floor. But I took some time to sit on it (outside of a meditation session), wiggle around, and figure out the 'sweet spot,' and once I did, I'm very comfortable, stable, and pain-free during meditation. It has really improved my practice.I also like that the company reached out to me about 3 weeks after my purchase to see how I liked it, and offered a few tips on using the zafu. Funny story, this cushion came to my attention when a package was delivered and I took it in and opened it without even confirming it was for us. We order things all the time and we frequently forget about certain things that take a long time to ship so, though I usually check the label, this time I just didn't.Found this cool meditation pillow in there and my husband and I thought maybe his mom had sent another surprise gift, especially as she and I had just been messaging about some emotional stuff and stress and things I'm trying to do to relax and ground more. But nope, it was delivered to us by mistake, it was for our next-door neighbor who came looking for it the next day. I had only sat on it once then tucked it to the side back in its box until she came to pick it up.But that one sit on there was enough to make me go "whoaaaa" at how effortlessly straight and comfy my back was. I mulled it over for a couple weeks or so and decided it was a sign and I needed my own. So I got one and I love it. The cover did smell kind odd, as another review points out, but a quick wash solved it just fine. It didn't smell horrible or too strongly fakely chemically, but somehow it did have a very strange, sorta chemmy, artificial smell. Almost like a "new car" smell but a bit more flowery and subtle but till just weird.Overall though, very sturdy and seems to be well made and it's been very helpful already. I only weigh about 130 lbs, I'm not sure what all the different capacities of these things out there are, but I read multiple reviews of people 150+ lbs saying that seams burst right away or within several minutes of sitting. Can't remember right off if any were about this particular cushion but either way, it just seems like if you're on the heavier side you might want a different kind and/or simply bigger pillow. Or they got defective or very cheap crappy ones. This one is neither cheap nor crappy. No way my little butt is gonna split this cushion. My husband though, for instance, I probably wouldn't trust to sit on there, he's double my weight.Looks like the best value on here at the moment, I did compare others before confirming that this one was indeed the right choice. Guess my neighbor did the real work and deciding for me!, she was spot on!

I am very impressed with my meditation pillow! I use it every morning and night while I read tarot and hope to continue to use while I start yoga and meditation practices. I have a very poor posture, I'm always sitting slouched and when I try to sit correctly, I end up slouching again within a few minutes, this has always been a problem for me. When I sat on this for the first time, without even thinking, I was sitting up straight and didn't feel uncomfortable and need to slouch. I was honestly shocked, that's never happened! That being said, sometimes if I sit on it for a long time, I'll start to feel pain in my lower back but I honestly just think it's my body adjusting itself since it's not used to sitting up straight. I highly recommend this to anyone who sits on the floor for any reason, it's so comfy yet maintains it's form. I love it!

We teach meditation classes, and in all these years, no one ever used our old cushions. I bought this one on a whim, and it has been used every week. Costs less than it would have to make it myself, and probably more durable. Thinking of getting a couple more!

Very excellent meditation cushion. It's perfect for keeping my spine aligned and my body comfortable while I meditate. The covering is a nice heavy canvas in a solid purple color (lots of other colors are available). The inner pillow is overstuffed so that you can "create" a cushion that is perfect for you by removing just the right amount of buckwheat hulls. Very comfortable to sit on the floor or used as a backrest and yoga blocks. An attractive, fantastic pillow!
