Our double boiler features a top insert pan with curved sides that allow smooth mixing and blending while the heavier bottom pan features an encapsulated tri-ply base for quick, even heating. Both pans are made from quality stainless steel. The fully Tempered glass lid is oven-safe to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and fits both the upper insert and Bottom pan. Measures 6-1/2-inches in diameter with a 5-Inch handle. Dishwasher safe. When all the right people, and ingredients, kitchen tools, and food come together, we call this the art of gathering.

2 cup capacity. 18/8 stainless. (Don't really knows what that means, perhaps the thickness and quality..but i don't have time to look it up right now) It is a nice thickness of metal, and it has NOT rusted in anyway. I mention this because i have had some things labeled "stainless" that did rust some! This is a nicely made/polished stainless double boiler. Sits easily on top of a small 1 Qt. pan. Handle and stainless loop at top along with the pour spouts help to stabilize it. Handle is riveted well on the outside. Inside is totally seamless and so it's really easy to clean well. It doesn't sit on the counter on it's own, but it's not really made for that anyway. Have used it several times this year, and it's a great asset to my other kitchen tools. Superb for melting butter, chocolate etc. or even making small batches of lotions or herbal oils etc.

These are hard to find especially for induction hobs. Well made and now we have chocolate creamed rice back on our desert menu at home.

I bought this to melt down butters, solid oils, and beeswax for lotion-making.It works very well in melting things down, but it's better suited to smaller batches because of it's small size.My only real gripe is that it does not stand in place on it's own; if you don't have enough material inside to balance it out, it will fall over. For me this is a bit of a nuisance when I'm just starting to add things to it, because they may spill out of the container if I don't balance the handle on something else beforehand.Other than that, it works well.

I used this to make lip balm and it worked perfectly. I will be using it to make lotion soon as well. It fits over a small saucepan perfectly and I just put a bit of water in the saucepan, placed the double boiler in, added ingredients and it did the trick great!

Not much to explain about a double boiler. This is a quality item. I have one suggestion for potential buyers. Give some thought to how big a pan you need. This one is almost too small, and I sometimes regret not having bought a size up. No fault of the pan or the maker.

This is a well made, high quality piece of equipment. I use this to melt beeswax and butters to make homemade skincare products. This has really helped me step up my game without adding another full size pot to my already cramped cabinets. Its size makes it easy to work with, clean and store and so far I’ve only had one instance when I wished it was a little bit bigger.

I love these smaller double broiler for making my oatmeal from scratch, making enough to last 4 or 5 days or to melt chocolate bars etc. I purchased one for my house long ago which I still use. I’ve purchased one for my niece’s home. I just purchased this last one to use while staying at my sister’s new home but it was not made correctly. The top would not rest into the bottom pan evenly no matter how heavy or light the food item. The top would tilt to one side so water from the bottom pan would spew all over the burner top and counter next to it. I was very sad and would be hesitate to purchase again.
