THE INSTALLATION STEPS

This was exactly what I needed and was a prefect replacement for the old seal on my toilet.I am 67 and had never worked on a toilet before, but it was much easier than I thought it would be. The seal that came in the "universal" replacement from Home Depot was the wrong type and they did not have the correct type. Neither did the local hardware store.Amazon to the rescue. Lots of options so that I could pick the exact match and have it in two days. No leaks, and my adult sons (who don't live here) were impressed.

The oring was a perfect fit, the screws/nut, not the best, I purchased a really good quality hardware set separately.

I used this R&T kit A36106, the R&T kit A1250L and the R&T kit A6110+R6110165 kit to completely rebuild the inside of a Kirtland dual flush commode I bought from Sam's Club about 8 or 9 years ago. Everything worked perfectly but I had to add a bit of elbow grease and check and double check the instructions that came with all of the R&T kits. The commode works perfectly!

This product works but short a few nuts and washers to work well with 2 piece toilets. It fits R&T 3†valve, but more shallow than my existing gasket that I’m replacing. I had to pull gaskets slightly away from the valve opening so that the gasket can seal the 2 piece toilet connection openings. Otherwise it would leave a gap and probably leak water when flushing. Run the finger around the connection area after seating the tank back on toilet to make sure there isn’t a gap exposed by the gasket.As for the missing nuts and washers, I’ve reused the ones from existing sets that were outside the tank and not corroded.

This is a quality repair kit for replacing the cheap steel bolts that come with the Aquasource 1.28 l toilet tank. The originals rusted out after about 5 years. They leaked and made a rusty stain mess on the tile floor. These are brass bolts, washers, and nuts and a good tank/toilet gasket. I expect the new parts to last much longer than the original ones.
