The graphite-impregnated fiberglass resists creosote and soot adhesion that, in turn, provides better abrasion resistance. The braiding of the gasket and the staying power of RUTLAND adhesive cements combine to make sure this gasket lasts much longer without failing or coming off.
All of this makes Grapho-Glas® Gaskets the best choice for replacing your stove’s gasket. So good, in fact, that many stove manufacturers use Grapho-Glas® as standard equipment on their stoves and fireplaces.

Easy to use. I wasn't sure what type of seal was originally used for the missing glass on my old wood stove. I purchased this because it was stretchable. It worked great and was easy to install.I just cleaned the old surface by scraping with a screwdriver and wiping down several times with alcohol and paper towels. I did not bother getting it perfect. Then a thin layer of gasket sealant and I wrapped this rope around. It stayed in place and made the turns with no trouble. Literally within an hour of receiving my glass I had both pieces installed as well as a new rope seal. An hour after that I was enjoying a fire.I ordered my glass from onedayglass.com Since I had the frames I was able to measure my exact size. They sell a ceramic glass that they can cut into odd sizes. My stove had a notched corner on each piece which could not be done on tempered glass. It an old stove so there was no original part available. This website presented many possibilities for glass. I just had to select the clipped corners then select that I only had one clipped corner and then carefully measure the measurements they requested. They say to allow for plus or minus 1/16th of an inch and the tips said to allow for 1/32 on each edge (1/16th each side) so I made my measurements so that it would fit whichever way the 1/16th went. It worked. Maybe that will help someone fix their stove.

This gasket was easy to replace. Make sure to get the right size and clean old one out. Seams to be good quality, but gaskets only last so many years.

EZ Insert Co. Wood Stove installation. worked fine. How hard you stretch the rope determines its diameter to some degree. It installed and worked just fine on my wood stove door. this is the first time I have used anything but the white fiberglass rope. Hope it lasts.

I purchased this gasket rope to fill in the gap on my charcoal grill. I attached it to the lid and let the weight of the lid allow it to rest on the base of the grill. It works just as I would of hoped!. The difference is night and day from when I did not have this rope. I am actually able to smoke now, as the smoke doesn't escape through the gap between the lid and the base. When you first remove the rope from the package, you will notice that it sheds...A LOT! I tried to shake it, rub it, swing it and anything else I could think of but I had no luck getting rid of the strands that were coming off of the rope. So, after I attached it to the lid of my grill (with the Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker) and let the it dry for two days (although the silicone only needed 24 hrs to dry), I started my grill. I put a little lighter fluid on the rope and lit my grill. The fire actually ended up getting rid of the strands that were shedding. Now...I am not sure if that was supposed to happen BUT the rope itself was and still is working like a charm. I just couldn't have strands of rope in my food...

So far so good.Installed stove door gasket using this rope gasket the week of 11/24/14.Installation was straight forward. This rope gasket fit properly and was long enough to have excess to trim away.Installation Details:Removed old gasket and cement from stove door with a screw driver. Wire brushed the old cement out of the door channel and wiped with wet cloth. Used "Stove Gasket Cement (77E) 2.3oz BLACK". Unscrewed cap of cement tube, cut tip of nozzle to open and squeezed a generous beed (~3/4 of the channel full) all the way around the door. Applied rope gasket by laying gasket in channel on top of cement and pressed in by hand. Cut to length once gasket was seated in the cement and tucked the two ends together so as to not leave a gap. Let sit overnight. Next day I re-installed the door on the stove and started a small fire after placing a sheet of newspaper between the new gasket and the opening of the stove so the gasket wouldn't stick to the stove if the cement wasn't completely dry. So far so good.

I bought two of these gaskets to seal up the firebox and the smoke box on my smoker and they worked great. I worried about how they would hold up to the heat of the firebox, but after 3 smokes, they have held up so far and have been an incredible help in controlling temperature and smoke!

I have a gas fireplace and I had a draft between the stove edge and the decorative tile (outside the firebox). This product sealed that space to significantly cut down the draft. Since it is a woodstove gasket, I can safely use it to seal any draft areas on the outside of my gas stove.

The original gasket on the moreso stove lasted around 10 years, this one fell apart and started coming off and sticking to the stove instead of the door in just over 2 months. Here on Amazon searching for another brand that lasts.

This was for my RSF fireplace the Opel AP. It was difficult to find the actual size for this fireplace despite having the manual. This part fits the overlapping door seal. I only needed about 18" so I have enough to do this another 4 times LOL.I did compress the gasket lengthwise before gluing. Compression has the effect of increasing the diameter. I found having more gasket material is better than not enough and the door bottoming out. It will also flatten out over time. And the door handle is designed with a wedge on the lever so you can get a good seal.Since the material is fiberglass-like it tends to fray easily. I saw a tip about taping the end while installing and gluing. I'll try that next time. You could also glue the end beforehand. To remove the old cement/glue I used a wire-wheel on my cordless drill. Only took 5 minutes.

This gasket is good quality. Soft and easy to install as it bends easily around the corners.
