The test kit does work as advertised and showed our water was within safe drinking limits. The packaging is a bit confusing in that it sounds like there are many test strips. This is only true for some of the tests. The lead test for example was one and done.

The kit has enough strips to do frequent checks for everything but lead and bacteria, and it provides quick results (except for bacteria, which needs time to incubate). Single tests per kit for lead and bacteria. The color coding chart allows for fast and easy comparison of results. I used it to compare different sources of well water and bottled spring water. I can't really rate accuracy except to say that the results seem reasonable, e.g., well water showed much higher hardness and specific mineral values than spring water, and well water in an area with more agricultural runoff potential showed higher nitrate values than other sources.

We bought this test to see if we have lead in the water and figured the other tests would be helpful to throw in. Well, the lead test only gives you 2 options for information. 1) That you are at or below 4 parts per billion or 2) Over 4 parts. But the CDC says you should have zero lead. Well, that is less that 4 parts per billion but do we have 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4?!?! Waste of money for our cause. The other tests we more conclusive and helpful but this one was a bust. Find another way to test lead.

The kit comes with excellent instructions for each of the three types of tests. The test strips are simple and you receive 25 strips to monitor the chemicals in your water over time. The one time tests for lead and bacteria require a little bit of concentration. But they are easy to do if you read the instructions carefully one or two times through before you start. It is a great relief to know that my tap water is safe to drink and use in cooking.

I had an idea that I had very hard water based on the area that I live in. I wanted to see if my apartment building used a water softener or not, so I decided to test it with one of these. Turns out, they do not use water softener. The test seemed pretty accurate as it matched what my local water company said the Hardness is. Easy to use too!

Nous avons un puit artésien et pour m’assurer de la qualité je l’ai testée avec ce kit. Tout est clair et facile, il n’y a qu’à lire. On s’avait qu’on avait une eau dure et alcaline mais le kit nous a révélé que nous avions trop de zinc. Il vaut vraiment la peine. Les kits de coliforme sont en attente ça prend entre 24 et 72h, donc on attend.
