Salsbury 3500 Series Vertical Mailboxes - Recessed Mounted - U.S.P.S. Access. Vertical mailboxes are U.S.P.S. approved for replacement and/or retrofit installations. Manufactured by Salsbury Industries to USPS-STD-4B+ Specifications. Ideal for apartments, condominiums and commercial buildings. Made entirely of aluminum. Feature a durable powder coated finish available in aluminum, brass, bronze, sandstone and green. Rough opening for recessed mounted vertical mailboxes is 1-1/2" less than the unit's width, 1-1/4" less than the unit's height and equal to the unit's depth. Fits into a rough opening and secured with mounting hardware (not included) through the back or side panels. Units include a fully integrated flanged collar which fits over the rough opening. We love these mailboxes. We bought two of them for our condominium building and they were exactly one half the price we were going to pay a dealer here in our state. The ones they replaced were 35 years old and really showing the wear, so these certainly make a difference. Our building is white brick colonial with white trim and the silver color looks so much better than the old brass colored ones. We had them installed in the wall where the old ones were and they fit perfectly. The postal carrier came so we could change their lock.

Once usps puts their lock, it cannot be uninstalled before first unlocking it. I had to make a minor adjustment in position after usps installed their lock and it became a major problem to coordinate usps, and the installer's schedule

They cost less than the competition, were shipped them on time and were very easy to install. They are very sturdy and meet Post office requirements

The seller advertises this product as, "USPS Approved," when in fact it is not. I installed this in my 4 unit building and called USPS for them to inspect it and install their locks. They failed the product because it is in fact not approved and stated, "This mailbox type hasn’t been approved by USPS for over 10 years. Manufactures responsibility is to make sure they comply with USPS current mailbox policies." The seller refuses to accept my return of the installed item even though they are falsely advertising it as "USPS approved." That is the sole reason I purchased it. Now I have a mailbox that I can't use and I'm out over $600.
