These are thumb rest pads. what I find interesting is that the product pics show them installed on the palm keys, which is not where they go. They actually go on the thumb rest for the right hand and any and every sax player would know this. I can say that you only need one but if you have more than one sax you now have two thumb rest pads for both saxes. The fit isn't all that great because they are a little long. I do, however, think they feel better than plastic. I use them for exactly that reason. I can recommend them for that reason. But I think it's just a little sad that they couldn't find someone to take a product pic showing the actual proper placement. I also think it needs to go back to the design table and make it fit better. Also leather is a good material alternative to rubber.

These rubber thumb rests fit well over the metal saxophone thumb rest. Due to the curved, thicker end, your saxophone cannot slip. At the same time, the rubber softens the feeling of the hard metal when playing the horn.
