Works very well and is extremely comfortable for playing sitting or standing. Definitely will buy a back up of this one.

This is a neck strap that is described as being usable with tenor, alto, and soprano saxophones. I found it comfortable and easily adjustable. What's more, there are no plastic parts, so although you might have to worry about the metal parts rusting if you get them wet frequently (as might happen in marching band), you don't have to worry about some custom-molded hard plastic piece breaking and being irreplaceable – with one exception, which I'll get to shortly. The actual neck band is faux leather and is padded on the sides. It's unclear why it isn't padded in the back, where most of the weight would exert its force, but still, I didn't find this uncomfortable. Both ends of a single fabric cord are attached to the ends of the neck band; the cord is threaded through the adjustment plate and the snap bolt. The adjustment plate is just a rounded piece of metal with holes in it that the cord passes through multiple times, allowing the distance between the neck band and the snap bolt to be adjusted to anywhere between roughly 18 cm (7 in.) to roughly 30 cm (12 in.). It's not terribly hard to adjust, though it's a bit stiff at first, but it gets easier. The snap bolt is just a metal hook similar to one you might find in a hardware store, with a couple of exceptions. First, on the fixed end, there are some crosspieces that prevent the cord from tangling. But mostly I want to mention the actual hook, which holds the instrument up. Instead of going with an all-metal snap bolt, they've made one where the bottom half of the hook, where your instrument's actual weight hangs, is actually a hard plastic piece. I'm not sure exactly how it's attached to the rest of the metal snap bolt, but it's molded on somehow. Clearly the goal is to prevent the snap bolt from scratching up your instrument, which is important. However, plastic can break, so I'm not sure you'd want to use this for a baritone sax (not that it's really long enough for that anyway).Your mileage may vary, but this is described as being for a soprano sax, and I'm not sure it's actually adjustable to be short enough for one. I'm using it with an electronic wind instrument that's approximately the size of a soprano saxophone, and it's just slightly too long at its shortest adjustment. The neck band is asymmetrical, so there are actually four possible orientations you can try it on, given that you can wear it upside down, inside out, or both. You will probably want to try it with the SGPRO logo right-side-up and on the outside to begin with, then if that's uncomfortable you can try other orientations such as upside down.

I got this for a 4th grader whose saxophone is way too big for him. He has been using it for a few months now and is loving playing the instrument. The strap is easy to hook on and off as well as easy to adjust. The padding is very comfortable on the neck. Previously, he had a strap that came with the saxophone that he had a hard time hooking on and off and doesn't easily adjust. This functional and comfortable strap has greatly improved his saxophone learning experience and enjoyment! I highly recommend it!

The strap arrived neatly and securely packaged. And I can report that it looks good and is comfortable to wear. The hook that attaches it to my saxophone has a plastic coating around the "hook" portion that comes into contact with the body ring, so there's no metal-on-metal rubbing. I appreciate that on my Conn 10M.Where this neck strap excels is the ease and speed of adjusting the length of the strap. It's literally as fast and easy as tugging the tightening mechanism and dragging it up or down to loosen or tighten the strap. This works very well, and -- once positioned -- the strap holds its position securely.Given the comfort and ease of adjustment, I'm happy to rate it 5 stars. The only thing I might want to change would be extending the plastic coating farther around the hook as an added safety measure. But all metal that would normally touch the sax is properly covered. Recommended.

The adjustment mechanism on the strap works very well. The neckband is padded, but not all the way across. In the middle of the neck strap portion itself, there is no padding. On the left and right side of the center there is padding. My experience was that the pressure of the weight of the saxophone caused the padded portions of the strap to actually press into my shoulders and became somewhat uncomfortable. In addition, the snap which connects to the hoop on the saxophone while nicely polished is not a very smooth acting mechanism. I don’t think additional lubrication would help. It’s just sort of cheaply made. The construction of the neck pad is good and these rope material to support the horn is also high-quality.I’ll keep this in my case as a back up strap just in case my primary breaks.

This padded leather neck strap is a very nice choice for those who prefer a string type neck strap. The 100% leather neck piece is very comfortably padded and the c-clamp swivel hook gives security with ease of release with the sliding bar. The string section is easily adjustable with a sturdy metal slide. This is definitely an improvement over my last neck strap.

Very comfortable and takes strain off neck, good clipping hook with plastic protector to prevent scratches to sax body, adjuster easy to use and secure once in position, compares favourably with bigger name brands at a lower cost. Next day delivery too!
