Fast, simple, and easy installation. The product is a small price to pay to save expensive appliances that may be installed down the line. With 2-3/4 male threaded adapters the product is installed with ease. I won’t be installing a water heater without one.

Moving into a new house I wanted to make sure I was protecting my new investments including my large 80 gallon water heater that I special ordered. A neighbor of mine had told me about ScaleRX that he installed on his water heater to prevent scale buildup on the inside of his water heater, and I decided to try one myself. I did need a little help installing it because I haven't done a lot of pipe work, but it really was pretty simple. We turned off the water, connected one end directly to the inlet, added a fitting to the other end, connected it back up, and turned on the water. Everything has been running smoothly with no pressure drop, and I like that it didn't need electricity since I don't have an accessible plug close, or chemicals like many of the other products I looked at before purchasing deciding on ScaleRX. It was also a good size to fit into my tiny water heater closet located under my stairs and you can tell it's very well made. The stainless steel body is solid and I'm glad to have added this preventative measure to my expensive water heater giving my system the longest life possible and protect my water heater and pipes.

Can't tell if it works or not, not sure you could tell. But after having it for 2 months, it's starting to show calcium build up on the outside. The how water recently started to pulsate. Not sure if it's related or what

Was skeptical that this would actually work. Price isn't too bad if it doesn't work so I figured I'd take a chance with the 2 positive reviews which seem genuine. Bought a house with a tankless water heater and the previous owners weren't exactly into maintenance so I was adding service valves and thought I would throw this in while doing that. There are 3 of us in the household and we all independently noticed a change in the condition of the hot water and fewer spots on glasses after washing. I need to add whole-house filtration and since this is apparently working I plan to install their larger unit at the same time.

Just received the scaler today and installed on inlet cold water. If you are handy no problem. I can sweat but i choose this installation. Construction and quality look good. I give it a 4 rating cause it will take time to see improvement.

I installed this as a replacement in a 1 year old water tank-less water heater Feb 2023. Water heater still works. (this 2 year old water heater has had 2 ScaleRX filters) It's now Jan 2024 and the scale build up has caused the water to not be hot. I purchased a Hercules De-scaler kit to flush the system and A LOT of buildup came out. After the flush, piping hot water was restored again. I'm sure this thing probably helped slow down scale buildup, but at some point the tank-less heaters needs to be flushed and these 145$ filters need to be changed. I think I need to get a big water softener system. and Even so, I would still flush the tank-less heater every 8 months, or so. If it comes out clean, then I can assess how long the next interval should be.
