So cute! Although I got this for myself it's clearly for children (hopefully of all ages). Love that it's tin instead of cardboard. Painted with bright colors & has pretty colors inside as well, although cheap beads. Although for the price, what can you expect? I want to also state mine was just placed in an Amazon envelope & wasn't wrapped. But, it arrived in perfect condition! So thanks to my driver. You were awesome!!!

I got this for my daughter, age three. It has a metal casing, which is nice, though it is extremely thin and would deform, if not crush, if stepped on even by my child. Still, it seems durable enough if used with care. The colorful beads and bits that create the show at the end of the tube are made of plastic, which is fine. It is colorful on the outside, but clearly cheaply made; still, it works well enough and the price is reasonable. My daughter likes it fine, though more so when it is an activity to do with daddy (perfectly fine by me :) than to pick up and play with herself. For me, it is a relaxing and thoughtful thing to do while swinging lazily in a hammock on a sunny afternoon - hold it up to the light, look through it, turn the end to tumble the colored bits, and behold the wonderful parade of colorful snowflakes. It has no batteries, which I love.I have to say, it's a challenge to spark my daughter's interest in this with so much competing electronica about, but I believe there is something charming and essential in introducing your small one to a world of wonderment actuated, rather than through keystrokes or computer screen, but the interplay of prism, light, and colored bits, and the fact that you never, ever, see the same picture twice. Four stars for a charming and educational toy that is at once nostalgic and timeless.

I love this is made of metal! Great quality. Reminded me of one I used to have in late 70s early 80s. Grandson was amazed looking through it. “Grandma this is so coolâ€

the essence of kaleidoscope is the image you see through the eye hole as you rotate it. duh ? !! the construction quality is of small importance. some of the best quality image kaleidoscopes are cardboard (the old ones) and will last forever if cherished (kept apart from toy boxes full of plastic schlock). this kaleidoscope is solidly built, its a reasonable value, the images it renders are far better than no kaleidoscope at all. every little kid should get to see, lets say, at least 2 or3 minutes per week of k images. its obviously good input for shaping how they see, or better, dont ignore, the world. this k will do for that. but its images are far from ideal. for that, and to see whats possible with kaleidoscopes, go to youtube, " the splendor of color kaleidoscope video v 1.1 ". and if anyone knows where to get an old fashioned plain cardboard kaleidoscope, please tell me. btw, i think the 3 mirror vs 6 mirror issue is critical, and i think the 3 mirror ones actually have better images, the question needs to be resolved by a true kaleidoscope master. unfortunately im only a novitiate. .......... this kaleidoscope has 19 + duplicated images arranged in concentric circles, the image patterns are too simple, the glass bits are too uniform. but it will do in a pinch

Lo compramos para regalar a una niña de 3 años y le ha encantado! Es el ideal por los colores vibrantes del objeto y porque tiene muchas piezas brillantes y bonitas que forma múltiples diseños e imágenes súper coloridas. La niña lo miraba e investigaba, despertaba su curiosidad moviéndolo y sacudiéndolo, y lo observaba por ambos lados, es genial para crearles una autonomÃa y que lo manejen y perciban como les de la gana.Un regalo ideal para niños y niñas!
