When I first put them together I was so unhappy because it just didn't give the kaleidoscope look when I looked through the viewing end. After putting several together I noticed one had an amazing scene! After some detective work I realized that there were two sides to the mirrored insert (it arrived with it already in the tube). The shinier side was on the outside, so I took it out and flipped it around and that made all the difference. It then had a true kaleidoscope look.Pros:Easy to put togetherGreat kaleidoscope look (once the mirrored insert was flipped)really fun for the kids.Cons:no instructions but you can figure it out (hint: frosted plastic on the outside, clear on the inside)the caps are rather loose but a little tape fixes it easily.the sticker paper that you can decorate comes wrapped around the tube and they all came wrinkled at the ends.Hints:I added a little sequence to add a little sparkleIf you want to decorate the tube directly, use some washi tape to secure the caps so they don't fall off.It took a little extra work but nothing horrible. Overall I would buy this again. It was a fun activity.

I understand this kaleidoscope is a creative "craft" that requires some assembly. However what was delivered is not worth the value price. It requires a lot of additional adjustments. Not a practical activity for a class of kindergarten students.
